MMA straightened my buddy's son out. He was getting into trouble, getting bad grades, started using... then he went to an MMA gym to learn how to fight.


It changed his life completely around. An "A" student who won't even eat an ice cream. Just one good example... except for the ice cream.

MMA training was great for my nephew - bullies used to pick on him when he was little. One day his father had enough and sent him to martial arts school. Soon he grew in strength and in confidence. Today he is a dedicated police officer.



I think we can all agree that MMA is good for kids - speaking of which I think we agreed on something a long time ago but for the life of me cannot remember what it was.

I think we can all agree that MMA is good for kids - speaking of which I think we agreed on something a long time ago but for the life of me cannot remember what it was.

It doesn't take long either in MMA class to learn how to defend yourself. I use that word loosely. Guys and gals who know MMA can end fights pretty quick. There is less emphasis on the control yourself aspect. They can take Karate for that if needed.




My buddy's kid (16) was at his girl's house and her older brother was there with his friends (early 20's). They wanted to see what it was like to fight with an MMA fighter. So he agreed to do it with boxing gloves (not MMA gloves because he did not want to cut them). He whipped them all rather quickly. He didn't hurt them and they were actually laughing after.

'Two and a Half Men' star Jon Cryer to play Lex Luthor on 'Supergirl'

Emmy Award-winning actor Jon Cryer will join the CW series Supergirl as one the greatest comic book villains of all time — Lex Luthor.
Best known as Alan Harper on the long-running sitcom Two and a Half Men and Duckie in Pretty in Pink, Cryer will debut as the master criminal in the 15th episode of the show’s current season, according to reports.
“We are enormous fans of Jon Cryer, and he was instantly our dream actor to play the iconic role of Lex Luthor,” the show’s executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said in a statement.
The producers point out that this isn’t the first time Cryer has been part of Superman lore as he previously played the nephew to Gene Hackman’s Lex in the 1987 film Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

“Jon is a super-talent, and the fact that he played Lenny Luthor in Superman IV brings an added layer of legacy to his casting,” they added. “We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Jon to the Supergirl family.”
Currently on the CW show, Lex is in prison and his younger sister Lena (Katie McGrath) runs his former empire. She is friends with Supergirl’s alter ego Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) but has a somewhat prickly relationship with the superheroine herself. Her company, now named L-Corp, also owns Catco, where Danvers works as a reporter.
Lex’s mother Dr. Lillian Luthor (Brenda Strong) has also appeared on the series as an antagonist to Supergirl and now also is behind bars.
Superman himself has also appeared on the series, as played by Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin.
On the big screen, Luthor has most recently been portrayed Jesse Eisenberg.

'Supergirl' co-stars Melissa Benoist, Chris Wood engaged

Supergirl co-stars Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood are set to wed.
The actress took to Instagram on Sunday to announce the big news, posting an image in which she showed off her diamond engagement ring while Wood kissed her on the cheek. The happy couple, both 30, appeared in front of a fire in the snap, which she captioned “yes yes yes it will always be yes”.
Wood shared the same shot on the photo-sharing site writing, “The happiest.”
He followed up the post by sharing a smiling photo of himself alongside Benoist attending a friend’s wedding.
“not from our wedding BUT IT WILL BE SOON,” he wrote.
Celebrity jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer shared her excitement, congratulating the pair and revealing Wood had a hand in designing the stunning ring.
“As a designer it’s being a part of moments like these that mean everything,” she posted. “Congratulations Melissa & Chris on your engagement! Chris, when you designed this ring with me, you made some girls on the JM (Jennifer Meyer) team wish you had a brother. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness and lots of babies!”
Benoist and Wood met on the set of the superhero TV series, in which she stars as the titular character. Wood signed on to portray her on-screen love Mon-El in 2016. News the two were dating emerged the following year after they were photographed kissing in Cancun, Mexico.
Benoist was previously married to Glee co-star Blake Jenner. She and the actor tied the knot in 2015 and filed for divorce in 2016.
