The survey is very anonymous. Age is asked so we can perform effective cross tabulations. This is a school project. Please help!

future advice... approach the site management first. Discuss your project, site, and where the info, etc. is going, and perhaps when they vouch for you and your link, you'll be met with less skepticism. Here, that would be Andem, Zan, Kreskin, or myself.

how do I go about discussing this project with you? Would I be able to send you an email with the details of our school project?

For any website you visit, there is almost always (always as far as I've ever seen) a 'contact us' tab on the bottom of the screen that will put you in touch with forum administrators. It's a bit late here now, but, feel free to explain to the members the ways their answers to this test, IP addresses and such, are secure.

Usually students with surveys request permission from site owners before posting them. And in the requests they usually disclose school contact information for those who have authorized the survey or can be contacted with a question or complaint. There should be in the least a very detailed explanation of all of that when entering the website, as well as the privacy policy and what the information will be used for. This is not the way schools usually request to post and conduct internet surveys on other websites.

well faithless, how would you go about funding a school huh?

Just be honest about it, that's all. I have had a few surveys done to me over the phone' and a week or so later, I am being sold on something about something related to the survey. It took me awhile to put two and two together...yep, I am a bit slow....but I am now more aware of why these surveys are conducted. Usually for marketing purposes.

It's the old "we're harmless student surveyors" scam. I'm from Nova Scotia anyway, we see this kind of thing all the time. "People's viewing habits" what kind of subject is that anyway? Viewing what? The sky, the floor, traffic, the wall. Sounds like a new nest of entrepruneours to me, just what the world needs now, a new bunch of marketing clones ready to sell you stuff you really need. Ha I'll wait till CCCs security section clears this lot. Don't do it BCers, it'll bite. "It looks legit" I smell a trap, could be commonists or terrorists.
