It would be inconceivable for everyone's sake (except perhaps the terrorists) to leave at this point.
We are gonna have to wait till the Iraqis have a large enough police force to handle the country....do you understand this logic??
what's to understand??? So why did the US disassemble the Iraqi police forces, their military as if to bring in the US version of everything......including law and order???

.....because these were SH's police forces fighting against them and again many of them were made up of SH loyalists who are currently waging their war on the Iraqi people... also like in the first Gulf War, the US beat the enemy's military soo fast that they did not have a proper plan... also the Constitution is not final, they will be able to change and revise it all they want once our presence is long gone....this will ultimately lead to democracy of Iraq but the most importaint thing is that we need to make sure they have a large enough military and police.security force to fend for their selves....
....if you say that Iraq can function today without no coalition troops I shake my head at you...
Many people consider that the terrorist have already taken over, commencing from March 20, 2003.Nascar_James said:. . . unless we want the terrorists to overtake Iraq. . .

Of course Iraq cannot function without "coalition"....( cute!!) aka US troops. that is a no brainer.
as the US has NO intentions of ever leaving Iraq entirely. It will continue to maintain its presence there via military bases etc..... and most likely run the gov't from behind the scenes. Just another day in the land of puppets.
...I disagree, once the troops are long gone the Iraqi people (protected by their own security) will be able to amend the constitution all they want....they can vote for anyone they want...the notion that the US will forever have "puppet" control of Iraq is outrageous..its not possible....
....yes currently the US is probably pulling some strings but it is understandable since they are trying to guide the country in the right direction and do it at a rapid pace.... over time there will be less and less involvement by outsiders and Iraqi's will make 100% of Iraqi decesions.....these are just the first parlimentary and constitutuonal votes.... there will be many in the future...these are jsut the seeds... the plant need nothing more than time to grow...
would love to get a hold of whatever you are smoking......

I for one will keep pointing out the tyranny in this world and will not fall on the sword like some lap dog for a war mongering president.

Reverend Blair said:It's funny to hear the neo-cons talking about when the US troops will come home. They are building huge, permanent installations in Iraq where the US military will be permanently based.
It's also funny to hear them talking about the Iraqis making decisions. You know the Iraqi government is not allowed to change? The multitude of edicts sent down by Paul Bremer. Those edicts cover everything from terms and conditions of oil sales (that edict looks like it ws written by Exxon) to having to buy seed from Monsanto because, in the land that invented farming, it is now illegal to save seeds to grow next year's crop with.
