Honestly, if I were stranded on a desert island, I don't think I'd be too concerned about which CDs I had on hand. I think just one CD would suffice; I'm assuming that I'd not have sufficient battery power available to listen to 10 CDs.

But just for the sake of argument, my top ten list would be:

In no particular order:

Dream Theatre - Images and Words (The unbroken spirit, obscured and disquiet, finds clearness... )
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
Rush - Moving Pictures
Guns n' Roses - Lies (Radicals and racists, Don't point your finger at me... )
Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears (His best album IMO)
Dio - Last in Line (We're a ship without a storm... )
Black Sabbath - Volume Four (I'm going through changes... )
Twisted Sister - Big Hits & Nasty Cuts (Who are you to look down at what I believe... )
Beethoven - Fifth Symphony
Beethoven - Ninth Symphony (These are the two best IMO)

5: Black Sabbath: Paranoid
6: The Clash: London Calling
7: Sarah McLachlan : Fumbling Towards Ecstacy
8: Pink Floyd: The Wall.

  3. Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe (for those moody days!)
  4. James Taylor - Greatest Hits
  5. AC/DC - Powerage

  9. Peter Tosh - Equal Rights
  10. and no collection is ever complete without some Cult! My fav is "Pure Cult, The Singles, 1984-1995"

Of course the best thing would be to create 10 CDs from my collection on the computer ... I'd still have problems figuring out which songs to leave out though! ;)

I find it really interesting to see what folks here listen to! You bunch o reprobates are always fulla surprises!!

RE: Stranded on an Island

a friend of mine would call most of you "alternative goth's"...lol, he's not very bright though and doesnt realise rock has nothing to do with being a goth or metal.

Although I feel bad that I'm the only one that likes a lot of R'n'B and soul...mainly cus the rest give me a headache

Ah, the Cult. I was never a really big fan of the Cult until I was given a greatest hits Cult CD about ten years ago. I listened to it and I found myself liking damn near every tune on the CD. My favourite Cult tunes though, are Rise and Edie (Ciao baby).

Another band that I had never even heard of, was Dream Theatre, until I was actually given the CD. I listened to it and liked every song on the CD. I actually listen to them quite a bit now, though I no longer actually have the CD.
