MikeyDB ,
What have I done for myself?

I've fought for the removal of nitrous oxide "kits" from head-shops across this country...I've protested inefficient and useless gun-control laws in Ottawa and Toronto...I've given blood at every opportunity I could to help out anyone who needs it...I've made submissions before government and municipal counsils and groups in the effort to protect the rights of the poor, of women and those abused by governemnt...I've written and continue to write letters to every political party and representative to keep reminding them that their responsibility is to the people of this nation..not big business and the trough-feeders....I do what I can for everyone else whenever I can and when I'm able...
Because life is about more that simply doing something for yourself.........___________________

What's that got to do with the promises Harper doesn't keep?

So Dion is promising 33% of his candidates in the next election will be female. Reverse segregation imo.

Oh, and I LIKE HAVING OUR RIDINGS REPRESENTED BY POPULATION!!!

BC + Alberta are getting more ridings for the next election.

All I am saying is we in the west feel Quebec gets way to much attention when BC and Alberta have the same population and everything west of Ontario has more population then Quebec... its really irritating...

What I don't understand is, if women make up more than 50% of the population why is it so difficult for them to get elected as the candidate for their riding. I know that women don't behave uniformly as a group - they vote for whoever they wish; male or female. Is it because there isn't enough women involved at the riding association level, or not enough women who join political parties, or not enough women willing to make the sacrifice to run for public office or what?
