Some strange and mundane facts about The Beatles
'Love Me Do' reached no. 17 in the British charts in December, 1962, which, though being easily The Beatles least successful single, was the highest placed single by any group at the time.
'Julia' was the last song recorded on 'The Beatles' album by John Lennon. He taped it alone on October 13th, 1968.
Renowned keyboardist Nicky Hopkins had the unique distinction of being the only man to feature on records by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who.
Paul McCartney's father Jim was a cotton salesman.
Ringo Starr almost emigrated to Texas to become a country musician.
German photographer, and a friend and fan of The Beatles from their Hamburg days, Jürgen Vollmer, had the original Beatles hairstyle, which the band liked, and he was the first to cut their hair in the famous moptop style.
A burst appendix and pleurisy kept Ringo in hospital for three years as a child.
Paul was always a versatile musician, and he contributed guitar on 'Ticket To Ride', and drums on 'The Ballad Of John And Yoko' - both UK number one singles.
The Beatles last live set in Britain was on Sunday, May 1st 1966, at the Empire Pool, Wembley, London.
In Cleveland, Ohio, and Kansas City, Missouri, the group had to temporarily seek sanctuary after excited fans invaded the stage.
'What's New Mary Jane' was an experimental John track which failed to make 'The White Album', and has never been released. Another Beatles title with a girl's name which was never released was 'Suzy Parker'.
John & Yoko's last bed-in for peace was in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 29th to June 2nd, 1969.
'Not Known' was an early title for George Harrison's 'Only A Northern Song'.
Songs which were originally destined for Beatles albums, but ended up on individual solo albums after the group split up, included George's 'Isn't It A Pity', John's 'Gimme Some Truth' and 'Child Of Nature ('Jealous Guy')', and Paul's 'Maybe I'm Amazed'.
Paul recorded a song with Steve Miller in May 1969. Entitled 'My Dark Hour', it was released as a Steve Miller Band single in June of that year. McCartney was credited as Paul Ramon, and the single consisted of only him and Miller playing all the instruments.
The rumour that Paul had died in 1966 first surfaced in the U.S. In 1969, an interview by BBC journalist, Chris Drake, with McCartney, at his Mull of Kintyre farm, kind of proved otherwise.
John returned his MBE medal to the queen on November 25th, 1969, as a protest against the Vietnam War, and managed to get more publicity for his peace crusade.

CSN is Crosby, Stills and Nash. Also can be known as CSNY - Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

It's the last names of the members of the band. David Crosby, Stephan Stills, Graham Nash, and Neil Young. They're pretty good and they've got a ton of songs. Love The One You're With and Ohio are good.

And Jethro Tull is a band. The lead guys name is Ian Anderson. They're pretty cool. He plays the flute so you got some groovy flute solos in some of this stuff. Locomotive Breath is a good one.

And Yes these singers are from the 'old' days. They're from 1969 and up era. 'Hippy' music.

You seem like you're really into the music of the hippy era or are you just interested in the Beatles?
May i ask you how old you are? i'm guessing somewhere between 16 and 25.

17. its just the beatles i like though. we grew up with them cos my dad used to be a beatles fan big time and he had these things called albums-have you heard of them?big assed things kinda like big cds.anyways, i started listening to them a few years ago and was turned on by how good this band was, imho.they never repeated themselves in their music. every song is different and sometimes just amazing what they did with what starts as a simple song. like this song called hey jude just starts out the singer (i think george or john), (maybe paul???)and a piano and then-boom- its like this whole orchestra thing by the end of it--pretty cool stuff.

All 4 of the Beatles put their trousers on ,one leg at a time, just like us ordinary mortals:smilebox: The most mundane fact I could possibly think of.

Yes, I love that song. That's Pauls song. He wrote it and sang the leads for it - that's usually the way they did it. Whoever wrote it, sang it.

It's a great song with a rather sad beginning. He wrote this soon after after John had divorced Cynthia. I guess it was done in a very cold manner and alot of people felt bad for her. The way John was flaunting Yoko in everyone's face was bad enough but that Cynthia had to put up it. But people felt bad most of all for Julian - Johns son. The settlement from the divorce was pretty unfair considering how rich he was and no one could understand why he was being so inconsiderate to his own son. Almost callous.

Everyone from Johns circle alienated Cynthia. Nobody came to see her not even the members of the band.

One day, out of no where, Paul had showed up to her place with one long stemed red rose and gave her his condolences. One the way to her place he was playing aroung with a song that he had in his head. The song was origionally titled "Hey Jules" for Julian. He later changed the title to Hey Jude as it worked better and probably because the song ended up encompassing more than what it had origionally started out with.

Ironically, John Lennon had always thought that Paul had written the song about himself.
