Bear I spent some time trying to come up with some evidence that might back up my point re the Mississauga. Sadly I've been unable to. It seems to me the Mississauga are the classic prototype of an Aboroginal Nation that was swallowed up, spit out, left with little pride and a very murky future. Where the fault lays I don't know but Francis Bond Head rescinding the Fort Niagara Treaty I think is a big part. The ceding of the Grand River Tract to the Six Nations & the Brant Tract around Burlington didn't help either.
The Bond Head Treaty pertaining to the moving of the Mississauga to Manitoulin was enacted before the Niagara Treaty was partially and illegally rescinded. But, I think I see where you're going anyways.
Good thing my Anish wife and Ojibwa friends are forgiving eh.

I really don't want to be divisive about it, but can you tell me, how are those 99 year leases and land grants paying out on Manitoulin?
We all got screwed. Here's a little chance for some pay back. If the Six Nations aren't entitled, they aren't entitled. I don't believe everything they come up with you know. Hell, I don't even support all land claims or even this one in its entirety. Navy Island was a gift. A voluntary act. One you can't go back on in a land grab.
Ya, that's what we should promote, division. Good idea. That's how we ended up being the Europeans bitches in the first place.
