Sir David Attenborough - the great British naturalist, wildlife broadcaster and writer - turns 100 years old today, 8th May.

Born 17 days after Queen Elizabeth II, Attenborough has narrated, written or presented over 100 nature documentaries, with his first being in 1954.

Sir David is one of the few people to have been knighted twice - by Queen Elizabeth II in 1985 and by Prince Charles (now King Charles III) in 2022.

One of Attenborough's favourite places is Australia's Great Barrier Reef, so our Aussie friends are giving him a rare coral from the reef as a 100th birthday present...
