BERLIN (Reuters) - A thief in Germany was charred beyond recognition by a 10,000 volt electric shock when he tried to steal a live copper cable, authorities said Monday.

You have to be pretty desperate to jump into a sub-station, where the buzz is enough to make your hair stand on end, and try to steal the copper wire. I'd think it would be better to rummage through the construction dumpsters....

That's what they do in my city, break into the yard to get the scrap wire from the dumpster.

I agree Tonington. When the margin of error becomes either getting copper wire or being sent to the centre of the Sun, I'd look for something else to do.
