Um. . . King Arthur was real. Robin Hood probably was.
I find it quite disturbing that almost a quarter of Britons think Churchill was fictional.
Of course, this is all as a result of Britain's modern Left Wing run education system, which frowns upon teaching kids the history of their country.
I think England & Wales - or maybe the UK as a whole - is the only place in Europe where it's not compulsory to take history in school from the age of 14.
of course he's for real - Dr Watson, too:
Here's Sherlock Holmes's former home, 221B Baker Street, just north of Marylebone Road and not far from Regent's Park in the London Borough of the City of Westminster in central London, built in 1815. It's now been turned into the Sherlock Holmes Museum, in which you can take a look around and see it as it was when the great man lived there. We met next day as he had arranged, and inspected the rooms at No. 221B, Baker Street, of which he had spoken at our meeting. They consisted of a couple of comfortable bed-rooms and a single large airy sitting-room, cheerfully furnished, and illuminated by two broad windows.
