I can understand your position and sympathize. I don't think the feds would allow separatists to dictate to Canadian citizens, wherever they may live. Personally, I don't think Quebec will separate but will continue to hold their hand out for bribes to not separate.

Here is a mathimatical reason why the Quebecois should move to Switzerland.

The Population of Switzerland
(7.252.000)

The French Population of Switzerland
(1.479.408)

The French population represents 20.4% of Switzerland's Population

The Population of Canada
(32.623.490)

The French Population of Canada
(5.158.199)

So if you add the French population of Canada (5.158.199) to the French Population of Switzerland (1.479.408) you will have a combined population of 6.637.607 people, which will make French the majority of Switzerland.
Talk the Swiss into it then.

This is a quotation from a Supreme Court of Canada trial decision on the secession of Quebec. It outlines International Law as it pertains to the secession of a group of people and defines the criteria, in myinterpritation, as to what must be met to attain that sovereignty.

In my honest opinion, the Native Peoples fit the bill better then the Quebecois.

"Undoubtedly, one of the key considerations motivating the enactment of the Charter, and the process of constitutional judicial review that it entails, is the protection of minorities. However, it should not be forgotten that the protection of minority rights had a long history before the enactment of the Charter. Indeed, the protection of minority rights was clearly an essential consideration in the design of our constitutional structure even at the time of Confederation: Although Canada's record of upholding the rights of minorities is not a spotless one, that goal is one towards which Canadians have been striving since Confederation, and the process has not been without successes," Justice Lamer wrote.
The court decision then went on to the second question that dealt with international law rather than Canadian internal law.
"[A] right to secession only arises under the principle of self-determination of people at international law where "a people" is governed as part of a colonial empire; where "a people" is subject to alien subjugation, domination or exploitation; and possibly where "a people" is denied any meaningful exercise of its right to self-determination within the state of which it forms a part. Quebec does not meet the threshold of a colonial people or an oppressed people, nor can it be suggested that Quebecers have been denied meaningful access to government to pursue their political, economic, cultural and social development," the court wrote.
The answers to the first two questions made answering the third question unnecessary, the justices decided.

The French are Fascist when it comes to their language. Only in France their is a language ministry to enforce French. Hell the French are so chaunvinsitic about their language that President Chriac left a confrence when he heard a fellow Frenchmen speakin English. The Language Ministry in Quebec remindes me of the Taliban Relgieous Minstry that forced Islam down the throats of people and whom force women to cover up and force men to grow beards.

The Language Police are a bunch of Linguestic Fascists who should be dismantled.

If the French won in the French and Indian War they would have banned English and drove of all the Anglo-Canadians by ethnic cleansing. The French are so intollerant of other languages, but unlike the French the British are so tollerant of other language they allowd the French language to continue in Quebec. Maybe the Anglo-Canadains should copy the French and impose the English language on Quebec.

IN DEMOCRATIC NATIONS THEIR SHOULD BE NO LANGUAGE POLICE.

First of all I agree there be no such thing as language police. However they are more pesky than anything else, because when they passed Bill 101 they put a noose around the French not the English. As English I had the right to choose the education language of my son(I was educated in English as most of us were) but the French no longer have that right. Today a lot of them are realizing that because of this their children are paying the bill in job oportunities. There are parts of the Bill that I agree with such as French in the workplace. I live in a mining town and from the time they opened until this Bill was passed they had to work in English (about 100 yrs.), where was the respect. Many of the English here at that time refused to learn French. RESPECT!!! They were stubborn and to narrow minded to realize that two languages are better than one.

The complaining you have hear comes from the hardliners because as usual they made good copy but there are alot of moderates that you never heard. They want change so instead of insulting them you might find some of their ideas would be good for the whole country. It is people like you who fan the fires of radicals and give them reason for their spoutings.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone.

Since Quebec belongs to Anglo-Canadains and not the ungratefull Quebecois. I think the Quebecois should be sent to set up a homeland somewhere else.

I understand your frustration. Always remeber, everybody is Canadian in Canada, even those who wish to destroy our contry. Most of those are just "usefull idiots(btw, i hate the term)" brainwashed by stupids hard-leftist.

Do not felt in the hate of the PQ, its what they want and what they are seeking! PQ is a trap!
