The British people prefer the dole to the Royal Navy. This incident was the foreseeable consequence of Britain's actions.
No; we keep our focus on the national debt, not on how many ships we have.
That's why you have to rely on the United States to defend you.
It's no good having a good national debt and just three warships when hostile ships enter your waters.
Well there was the British and the French inspired wars and the American (European really) money masters so the real question is when has Canada ever repelled any invasion?Canada's been invaded how many times?
All those new weapons are for NATO wars overseas, it has nothing to do with defence. There's no point wasting money on a military larger than what is actually needed for national defence. No need to prepare for a Mars invasion.

Apparently you do as well.
Looks like your mighty navy is all of one functional vessel and the rest are rust buckets in dry dock.
Apparently you do as well.
They are in dry dock in case they are needed for a desert campaign.
Britain hasn't been invaded since 1066, but this UNEXPECTED incident just before Christmas shows that the unexpected can happen at any moment and that a strong navy is necessary.
What would Canada do now if several heavily armed Russian warships unexpectedly entered Canadian waters, just as they have done in British waters? No amount of shouting at the Russkies that you have a perfect, world-beating economy and a complete lack of national debt (no matter how much bull**** that is) is hardly going to scare the Russkies off.
History has proven many times that the game of "We don't need a strong military because we aren't under threat at all" is a very dangerous game to play.
The Afghans beat the Soviets and the Vietnamese the Americans; and the Nazis feared invading Switzerland.
Military might is not the only factor that determines victory.
Russia is the least of our worries......... world-beating economy and a complete lack of national debt (no matter how much bull**** that is) is hardly going to scare the Russkies off.
So are you saying the Canadians would be able to defeat a heavily armed flotilla of Russian warships, or a flotilla of eight British Type 45 destroyers and six Type 23 frigates, armed with nothing more than 15 lightly armed warships and a few fishery protection vessels?
And consider this: from confederation to 1974, Canada fought two world wars, went through a major depression, constructed major infrastructures such as the St. Lawrence Seaway, Trans-Canada Highway, International airports, Canadian National Railway, and brought in social welfare programs such as Family Allowance, Old Age Security pensions, Canada Pension Plan, Universal Health Care and wound up with a total accumulated debt of only $21.6 billion.
Poor Canada. It's really be hard-done by, hasn't it? It's obviously had to put up with much more devastation and catastrophe and upheaval in the last 100 years than the European nations.
Remember, the Canadian economy is nothing more than an extension of the US economy, and relies heavily upon it. The health of the Canadian economy depends greatly upon the health of the US economy.
