Rocker ruptures testicle after bizarre onstage accident

Dutch rocker Otto Schimmelpenninck is recovering after rupturing a testicle during a recent show in Birmingham, England.
The Delain bassist was hit in the scrotum by a silver streamer shot from an onstage cannon last week, and has taken to Facebook to detail his odd injury.
He writes, "It hit me from the back, in my genitals. Although (the) pain was pretty bad right away, I was merely p---ed off at myself for not paying attention. During the next song, (the) pain got worse though, and I had the feeling I was bleeding. Pretty soon (the) pain got to the point where I could barely stay conscious anymore."
But Schimmelpenninck completed the show before he was examined backstage, stating, "My scrotum was the size of a big grapefruit and I was in a lot of pain."
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where medics removed "more than 500 ml of blood" from his scrotum, and stitched up his ruptured testicle.
He adds, "I was very close to losing my left testicle, but chances are good it will be fine."
