Thanks for the over the top welcome as it were:

Just so you all know aside from time spent at Everest and swimming, when I attended university my roomate was a Comp Sci major. The fall-out is I am a bit of a hardware geek and I do enjoy some relax time on the computer...though forums are fairly new to me.

Being done is somewhat surreal. It has not sunk in for me however the red cross has got my dance card full and I am suffering from swim withdrawel and the amazing time with my friends. Off to a wedding in Squamish B.C., best man for a friend of 12 years, then back into the mix

I think I will drop in from time to time and meet, greet, share and definately learn from you all. As i get more savy the photos will come as well as some vid clips... yes me with orcas is definately on film and it was the most amazing moment this life has held for me so far.

Cheers

Hey, we could get him into the Shared House game and he could swin around in our beer-bottle shaped swimming pool. No orcas, but Zeke likes to paddle around.

Of course it's an accomplishment. That's why I think he deserves to be invited into our little dysfunctional commune to swim in our oddly built pool.

Well friends...

Back from a wedding with about a week till I fly out to Ottawa for some meetings with higher ups. So I could post some photos on here.
I someone could suggest a service for sharing or can Ipost a few just directly here.

My buddy has a web page that I can share photos on or there are a whole bunch attached to the journal entries on the swim web page

www.islandaquathon.ca

suggestons?

p.s they are all 1 - 2 meg files

Orcas are very tough to catch photo wise while the crew handled the boat. Timing was near impossible to get angles and when they surface to breathe.

Video is king on this one and we have some of both orcas and porpoises and of course the memories.

There is a quicktime clip in the media section of the swim site or I can send some clips when I figure out how.

rob

ps thanks for posting the photos hope you enjoy

To answer in brief... the physical side of it seemed 1/10 the mental struggle from day to day.

that was truely the hardest battle for both myself AND the crew
