Loved ones remember the victim of one of the city’s most gruesome murders as loving and warm to family, but equally compassionate to others — a man who once gave his own coat to someone he saw shivering on the street.
And while Reno Lee had lost his way in some respects, his father said the family kept their hands reached out to him as they worked to pull him back from drug addiction.
“My son was just a kid, caught up here on what we call the Lost Warrior Road,” said Lyle Lee. “We always thought we could get him out of that rut.”
That hope was ripped away when, on April 30, 2015, several bags containing 34-year-old Reno’s dismembered body were pulled from a shallow grave on the edge of the Star Blanket First Nation.
