Storage of the 'exess energy' from renewable electrical generation is allready being used in England. Clever little plan it is too - during peak production times when the electricity is not all being used, send it to a pump that pumps water uphill to a holding tank or lake. Then, when the demand is high but the sun went down [for solar panels, for eg.] that stored water can be let out to turn a hydro-generator to add electricity back into the grid.
There is a solution for every problem in renewable energy. The goal is to have renewables providing about 25% of our electrical needs, which will take the pressure off other systems and thereby reduce the carbon output by shutting in the most offensive facilties.

A note about the denial - if we reduce our emissions from fossil fuel burning it will not only slow global warming, there will be less cancers asthma and other illnesses that come from that pollution. With two valid reasons, it is a sure bet that we should proceed.
I see you guys erased the global warming need, since it is just a hoax, [i do not agree!!!] but there is still the pollution factor - so why not reduce our emissions?
