Ahhhh, I see, the american sports industry is bigoted. Got it.

You bet it is. It doesn't like controversy. And it doesn't like professional mouths causing controversy.

I'd also like to think it doesn't like mouthy bigots using god and the notoriety the sports industry provided to push their intolerance, but it's really all about the money.

First of all the Bible should have no legal relevance in our society. The Bible is part of a
belief system not part of the legal system. The law does not put people in categories it
calls them citizens. Some believe in the Lord and Saviour, others don't. In an open and
democratic society we should not be allowed to use our fundamentalist rules for the
control of others. It is legal and part of society to be gay. It is also legal and part of society
to be Christian. No one is asking the Christians to be gay, although some have demonstrated
they are in illegal ways. The sexual abuse scandals and not just the Catholics either there are
plenty of other errant Christians as well from different labels of the faith.
Sins and Crimes are two different things the only time they overlap is when defenceless people
are effected like Children. or murder victims. Gay does not fit into that category.
Hating gays because of who they are or for religious reason is not being tolerant of others.
Besides the first thing the not so good church folk do is cry discrimination or a threat to their
faith and beg the law to defend them. At the same time they attempt to use the same law to
restrict the rights of others. I think even Jesus would find something wrong with that.

Was it in his role as a rep of ESPN- did he do this as part of his show?

"he" doesn't have a "show". He's the senior writer for ESPN magazine. You would have known this if you had read the article.

As a note, the organization calling for him to be canned is:

Love thy neighbor. No exceptions | Faithful America

Their motto is:

Love thy neighbor.
No exceptions.

I guess they don't feel that should apply to everyone either.

he hasn't been fired, but there is an ****, hypocritical organization calling for him to be fired. An organization with the motto of "Love thy neighbor, no exceptions".

If Broussard is so courageous why didn't he attack the open lesbian love fests that we have seen on WNBA, womens soccer, tennis, and golf for all these years?

Chris Broussard's commentary is only one among many. I don't agree with his opinion but I don't think he should be pilloried for it.

I Also don't think that Jason Collins's "coming out" warranted a presidential phone call, but hey, it's America, and the president weighs in where he chooses.

The whole thing is kind of a non-story, except for those who feel they have a stake in it.
