I like this quote
"After three days I decided to go to the hospital
it took the guy/girl this long to figure out that something was wrong ...?????
They examined me, asked if I had been at Open Air, and then put me straight in the hospital
Was that the mental hospital ...!!!!

"They all have retinal burns, scarring is visible on them. Loss of vision in individual cases is as high as 80 percent, and regaining it is already impossible," Kommersant quoted a treating ophthalmologist as saying.

what happened here did they stare directly at the dam lights or what...??? i would have thought that everyone knows that that is dangerous ,seems like some people didnt know..!!!!

In my son's lab at UBC there was a weirdly funny a sign that said; "Do not look into laser with remaining eye" What the hell were these laser show organizers thinking of?

I wouldn't blame the ravers for their eyes getting burnt, the idiots putting on the show should have safe guarded and either used a safe form of light show, or not do it at all.

However, if anybody at this rave was doing any drugs such as E, chances are they're vision is royally screwed, since E makes your pupils dialate and absorb more light information then normal.

As it goes for waiting a few days to goto the hospital, if it's anything like where I live for waiting times, chances are they might have figured it would have been temporary and didn't want to wait hours in an emergency room to hear the doctor to tell them to go home.

Either that or they wanted to wait it out until the drugs were flushed out of their system before they went to the hospital.

When I was working as a field engineer in Fort McMurray one Summer, I wandered into the dark pipr fab shop from the bright sun outside. Just as my eyes were adjusting to the dark, a welder struck his arc a foot or two from my face. It didn't bother me until about three the next morning. My eyse felt like they had been rubbed with salt and sand. for three or four hours. It was a hard lesson.....Thank God it wasn't a laser......
