Well there are many statues and other memorials for other monarchs so it would be bizarre to not have one for our longest-reigning one.

She should get something like the Queen Victoria Memorial at the end of The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace which was unveiled in 1911, ten years after Victoria's death.

Today marks one year since Queen Elizabeth II's final public appearance.

On Tuesday 6th September 2022 Her Majesty met with Truss at Balmoral to appoint her the Prime Minister, to take over from Johnson. Just two days later the Queen would die at Balmoral - and Truss would eventually become Britain's shortest-serving PM.
