I used “apparently” in the title above as I’m not convinced that it’s true.

If Quebeckers are indeed less fearful than the rest of Canada or the U.S. when it comes to COVID-19, then why in blue blazes does Quebec still have forced mask mandates in indoor public places?

Just look at the Stanley Cup Finals. Florida had an arena full of maskless fans while in Quebec we only had 3500 fans who were all masked. This to me represents fear. Unfounded fear. The article in my opinion is not factual.

Even within Canada, there are provinces that are less fearful of COVID-19 than Quebec. Look at Alberta. They’ve removed mask mandates for all public indoor places (except health care institutions). Yet Quebec keeps instilling fear in it’s population.

They are the most likely to believe that the worst of the crisis is behind us and they are most optimistic about the future
