A woman raised security alerts at Auckland Airport when python fillets which were covered in insects were found packed in her luggage.
They were discovered in the New Zealand airport by a quarantine officer last week. She claimed that the snake meat, which was in a plastic bag, was packed by her mother, she had declared the package thinking it was tea.
Brett Hickman, of New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), says; "It became clear the contents were definitely not tea when our quarantine inspector opened the package and discovered fresh fillets labelled as python. The meat could have had diseases damaging to our native reptiles. And contributing to the biosecurity risk, it was crawling with insects."

When my wife flew back from the UK > Halifax to renew her Visa while in Canada, the lady in front of her had her bags checked and her suitcase was packed with various meats (steak, pork chops, chicken, etc.) which were only packed in your typical grocery packaging..... and not kept cold in any way.

She apparently had no idea how they got in there.
