Check out the reason for male circumcision if you're so opposed to it. You may find it has something to do with female health issues too.

On this particular forum, people tend to discuss pretty freely, and if a thread wanders, the membership generally doesn't mind or worry about it.
But. A few members do state in their OP if they want a thread to be kept on topic, and the membership does their best to honor such requests.

I have no desire to further that side,I brought it up to illustrate other hideous practices. And I did check out the earlier thread and agree with your position but for the life of me I cannot think of any reason why an adult would opt for the operation. Cheers.
No, it was not an attempt to lighten things up at all. In the future you should consider what you say to others you have no issue with and you won't have to make excuses after the fact.
You presuppose an awful lot. First, that know know my intent (you don't). Second that I have no issues with you (I do). Third, I don't have to make excuses. I apologized out of courtesy and respect--not that I would expect you to know much about either given your chastisment of the family we have here.
Perhaps you wouldn't have such an issue with topic drift if you didn't manage to insult the forum as you attempt to make your opinions on other topics known. Not only did you share your opinion on the OP but also on the forum as a whole, the moderators, and the posters--none of which you chose to show in any positive light.
If you intend to stick around, I fear you may find it hard for folks to consider your opinions worthwhile if you are taking swipes at them as they read.
