Lashana Lynch will reportedly become the first female 007 by taking over James Bond’s codename in the latest movie.
The Captain Marvel star was announced as a castmember back in April, and is apparently set to play Nomi, a secret agent who inherits Bond’s iconic codename after he retires to Jamaica.

A movie insider tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper that the 25th official James Bond film, which has the working title Bond 25, opens with a scene in which the British actress’ character is unveiled as the new 007, before Daniel Craig’s Bond is called back into action.
“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, ‘Come in 007”’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” the source revealed.
“It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007.”
The moment is believed to be a nod to speculation around Daniel’s replacement, as some have called for the franchise to move with the times and for producers to cast a black man as Bond, or even to switch the character’s gender.
Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has also been brought in to work on the script in a bid to modernize the latest installment.
“There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Bond is relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women,” she told the Mail of her role. “I think that’s b–locks. I think he’s absolutely relevant now.
“(The franchise) has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to his character.”
However, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has said that there would “never” be a female Bond, despite efforts to update the character.

Second Peeping Tom investigation on James Bond set

Police are investigating a second alleged Peeping Tom spying on women on the set of the new James Bond movie.
A 49-year-old man was arrested back in June and charged with voyeurism after a recording device was found in a women’s toilet at Pinewood Studios, where the latest 007 film is currently in production.
Police are now investigating a second incident after a second alleged Peeping Tom slid their hand under a toilet cubicle partition to film a woman.
“Thames Valley Police is investigating a case of voyeurism at an address in Pinewood Road, Iver Heath, Bucks,” a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told WENN in a statement. “The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. on Friday…No arrests have been made.”
A studio source told British newspaper The Sun the victim’s experience has left other women at the studio fearful.
“The woman chased after him and shouted at people to stop him but he got away,” they said. “All the crew are looking at each other and wondering who is the creep, some of the women are terrified of using the toilets and going in pairs.
“It can only be someone who has access to the studios as you need a pass to get in and that’s what makes it worse, that it’s one of your colleagues.”

The victim fled screaming from the scene and security staff were alerted but were unable to apprehend the suspect.
A representative for Pinewood Studios confirmed the matter has been reported to the police, and a suspect banned from the set.
“Safety and security are of paramount importance,” they said. “We reported the incident immediately to the police and have shared details of a suspect who has now been banned from the site.”

British royal Prince Charles is reportedly in talks to appear in the upcoming 25th James Bond movie.
According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the 70-year-old future monarch has been approached by producers of the flick, which is currently shooting under the moniker Bond 25, who are desperate for Charles to make a cameo appearance in the film.
A source told the publication it was Queen Elizabeth’s appearance alongside Daniel Craig’s 007 for the opening ceremony of London’s 2012 Olympic Games that inspired them to reach out to the Prince of Wales, adding: “They loved the buzz around the Queen’s appearance alongside Daniel Craig and think Charles could top even that.
“He is the epitome of everything British, perfect for a cameo role and Bond fans worldwide would absolutely love it.”

They added the idea of an appearance in the movie was brought up when Charles visited the film set earlier this year, where he posed for photos with Bond actor Craig, 51.
However, if Charles turns down the offer, it’s claimed his sons, Princes Harry and William, are next on the filmmakers’ hit list.
“If Charles doesn’t go for it Harry and Wills could be in producers’ sights next,” the source told the paper.
Bond 25 is slated for release on April 3, 2020.

LOS ANGELES — The new James Bond film finally has a title – “No Time to Die” – and an April 2020 release date, producers announced on Tuesday.
“Daniel Craig returns as James Bond, 007 in… NO TIME TO DIE. Out in the UK on 3 April 2020 and 8 April 2020 in the US,” according to a brief posting on the official 007 Twitter account.
Filming for the new movie, previously known only as Bond 25, got underway in Jamaica in April when producers announced that Oscar winner Rami Malek will play the villain in the latest entry in the lucrative British spy franchise.
Craig confirmed in 2017 that he would return for the fifth time as secret agent 007.
Producers said on Tuesday that the new film would see Bond enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica after leaving active service before an old friend, Felix Leiter, from the CIA turns up asking for help.
Bond embarks on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist, which puts him on the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology, they added.
“No Time to Die” was initially expected to arrive in movie theatres in November 2019 but that date was pushed back to 2020 after Britain’s Danny Boyle pulled out as director and was replaced by American Cary Joji Fukunaga.

The film is also being shot in London, Italy and Norway and actors reprising their roles will include Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q.
The Bond franchise is one of the movie world’s most lucrative with 2015’s “Spectre” raking in $880 million at the box office worldwide, while “Skyfall” in 2012 grossed more than $1 billion globally.

Priyanka Chopra has put herself in the running to be the first female James Bond.
The actress is a massive fan of the British spy drama franchise, and thinks it’s definitely time for a female 007 — and she thinks she’s the perfect candidate.
“I’ve always been keen on (playing James Bond) but I can’t put myself into the race obviously,” she told Britain’s Metro newspaper. “I think, in my lifetime it would be amazing to have a female Bond. Whether that’s me or someone else, it’s something I would love to see.”
The Baywatch star made it clear she’s a serious contender and, when asked which actress she could see stepping into Daniel Craig’s shoes, she joked: “Me!
“I don’t know, I would just be very happy with the fact that it would be a woman,” The Sky Is Pink actress explained. “I definitely think (it’s time).”
Filming recently wrapped on the 25th Bond movie, No Time To Die, which is rumoured to be Craig’s fifth and final outing in the role. It debuts in cinemas next April.
