I just want to know whether they're real Canadians or Canadians of convenience created by our lax immigration department.

I believe a strong majority of these people obtained Canadian citizenship during the war in the 80's, moved to Canada when times were tough and have now moved back Lebanon because of relative peace.

If they haven't lived within Canada in the last 2 years... drop them to bottom of the evacution list. Being Canadian isn't a matter of convenince.

Precisely. Such people consider themselves Lebanese but the moment trouble arises in their 'homeland' they are suddenly Canadian. I will not have such disrespect for my country. Vote for me in the next election! I will bring about fascism to end this uses our country as a doorstop by bloody immigrants who would disrespect my beloved country in such a crass manner!

These people knew what the situation was in the middle east, and yet they choose to still go over there. They should suffer the consequences. Canada should not be expected to bail these people out. Let them find their own way home.

The more I think about it the more shocking I find it that Harper is wasting taxpayer's money to rescue people, regardless of passport, from a war zone instead of using it for what he's intended.

buying votes

poor guy is losing control of his priorities. hope he gets his mojo back for September otherwise Question Period may be no fun at all.

what do you guys think is supposed to happen, do we MAGICALLY have ships appear in Lebanon? some of you are calling for more planes. Are you THICK there are no airports in Lebanon that can land the planes needed.

EVERYONE has to be taken to either cyprus or turkey by boat and then flown home, don't be so bloody stupid.

Do you really think that as soon as the idea of evacuations were raised (as in the first or second day of conflict) that they weren't working on a way of evacuating people.

I mean it is 330 KM just to get to Tarsus (evacuation point in turkey) and these aren't fast ships, I am pretty sure it takes 10 hours just to go that distance. It takes time to move these things, especially when it isn't like they were sitting dormant!! they were BEING USED BEFORE WE RENTED THEM!

You are just being pig-headed if you dont' think that our Gov. did everything it could to make evacuations as quick as possible. Any party would have done the exact same thing here as well.

There is not a partisan philosophical difference on how long people should have to wait to be evacuated.

On the other hand the NDP do believe people should have to wait forever to use the public health care system.

Some people might say that calling for decorum instead of practicing it is a little hypocritical.

.

you called me a hypocrite and I said you were talking out of your ass. IMO that's fair dingham.

your response was nothing more than pure and unsupported personal attack.

And then I quote you again:

wrong again.

Hilarious how you cut out the unsupported personal attack part:

The more I think about it the more shocking I find it that Harper is wasting taxpayer's money to rescue people, regardless of passport, from a war zone instead of using it for what he's intended.

RE: PM and one ship evacu

You ignored the "nothing but" part.

No I didn't. Your statement is clear. Everything the PM did about this you suggest is contrary his mandate to "buy votes". It's very typical of you: Take facts that don't support your brainwashed "rage-against-the-machine" fashion of a philosophy and you will attack it or explicitly defiine it as something completely opposite and unsupported by anything beyond your imagination.

If you need to break your statement (i.e. 1 statement = 1 idea) into smaller and smaller amiguious chuncks until there is no meaning then yeah: you can turn around and claim it means anything. If you think the rest of us are that stupid that's your problem.

There's the other tactic of yours: Stomping your feet and saying "No it isn't. No it isn't" until people get sick of it and just let the baby have his bottle.

NO I DIDN'T

and no

I don't. I'd love to accommodate you but I'm not interested in appealling to the lowest common denominator.

Yeah keep telling yourself that. Bitwhys you ARE the common denominator. Anotehr fine trait of the "fashion philosophers" like yourself: Constantly thinking your not part of the common denominator. You are. You're not better or smarter than anyone. In fact you're very pedestrian.

You said the PM did what he contrary to an unsubstantiated idiom of buying votes. That is an attack and it is part of your entire statement.

there it is right there. When faced with something that doesn't fit with your view of the world you make up a fantasy and replace reality with it.

YES YOU DO
