There are 3 posts in this thread which is dominated by yours in which you completely misread or made vast extrapulations on what a poster said. Durka Durka to name one. I once dedicated a whole forum called “My Political Rant. Have one?” in which I criticized both the Liberals and the NDP, and was taken to task by both Liberals and NDP supporters. I’ve also slammed Ignatieff on his politics of having supported the Iraq War (would not wish to vote for him) and have faulted the Liberals for issues like the Sponsorship Scandal. I hold no party affiliations and vote for what I see in order of the best policies for this country.

The overall majority of sorry excuse for Canadians in Lebanon are not real Canadians. They hold dual citizenship supported by those idiot fiberals incompetence. They have lived in their own homes in Lebanon for years. They do not have a residence here in Canada and they have NOT paid taxes for years to the Canadian Government.
So I say to hell with them. Real Canadians sure bring them back but make sure they will pay for the cost to return home.
Those dual citizens have money so why should we pay for them to return to nowhere in Canada because they do not have a home here. Wanna come here then pay for it!

You are comparing our efforts with those of other countries? Alright. Here we go.
Canadians make up by far the larger number of peoples who need to be evacuated. The US, Britain, France, Germany etc. do not even come close. In fact it has been pointed out there are more Canadians in Lebanon than there are other foreign nationals combined. This requires major intervention. The French were the first to react and got their people out first. Of course they did. They are closer! The same goes for the British although the British sent warships (assault ships perfect for the role of evacuation) along with helicopters. The Americans also have sent warships which include aircraft carriers. This is all equipment Canada does not have! Who would we thank for that? Oh yes, the very same people who are bleating at Parliament about how slow the Conservatives have been to respond. What they neglect to mention is the fact Harper had been trying since last Thursday to find means by which he may evacuate Canadians.
I should remind you all, just as our Romeo Dollaire (Canadian Forces general) did, that there is a big something between us and Lebanon called the Atlantic Ocean! This poses problems for a country that has a joke military and little shipping. This is a military officer who knows more about logistics than any of you idiotic lefty armchair quarterbacks. It is his forte! It has to be for a military officer. Romeo Dollaire expressed surprise actually at how quickly the Conservatives have responded. So why do the lefties of Canada think differently? If anyone is to blame for this mess it would be you. Immigration policies which allow Lebanese-Canadians to make Canada into a mere 'country of convenience' for them since they spend half a year in Lebanon and half here. As such I would expect them to reimburse the Canadian taxpayer for the costs involved in their removal from Lebanon. Military policies which have reduced Canadian Forces to hitching rides with our Allies rather than provide them with their own airlift capabilities. Who slashed and burned our military into a worldwide joke? The Liberals. Never forget this. I have no doubt our government is doing the best they can. One need also remember we need to check the nationality of all Canadian citizens. This takes time. You would we should take just anyone aboard our vessels once they arrive? This would be a sneaky way for those who are not Canadian to get into Canada. Amongst them could be Hezbollah fighters. They are cowards after all.
So I would suggest you cowardly lefties put your goddamned blinkers away and pay attention. Pay homage to the Liberals who got us into this mess in the first place if you must but shut the fuck up about my government's efforts. You are like the whiny Lebanese bitch I saw on the news blaming Harper for the death of her family members in Lebanon as if it was his fucking fault. I do not want such people in my country. I look at this issue this way: These people know the trouble that is going on in the middle east before they go travelling over there. If hostilities break out, why should Canada go over and rescue them from a situation that is ongoing? These people are a joke. They wanted to go over there, so let them suffer the consequences.
