There's a woman in Lipton SK giving some away, Twila. I can phone her and let you know you're on your way. 8O

Do you hunt, Jay, or is she just a show-dog/pet?

I'm a rather amateur hunter Rev. I like to go upland game birding, and duck hunting also.

I haven't taken her out yet, and I’m really hoping Rumour and I would show each other a thing or two.

I might add Rumour is from BC. The pictures of her on the site I posted are taken there, she was then flown out to Ontario because she was co-owned and they squeezed another 8 puppies out of her and then retired her (you can see her puppies on the site I posted). I just happen to find the breeder on the net and asked if they had any dogs for sale and she said they were retiring one. So my wife and I went out to meet her, and the breeders gave her to us. The only string attached was I have to have her fixed. She is a prized dog and her puppies are worth around $1200.00 each. There's allot of ppl out there who would take advantage of my Rumour, but now that I have her, they won't.

Do you ever go hunting Rev?

Do you ever go hunting Rev?

I've been a few times, although I don't hunt myself. I have some friends that are fairly avid hunters. One of them had a couple of springer spaniels that were great for flushing prairie chickens etc and were trained to retrieve ducks and geese. I gather that took a fair bit of training...pointing and flushing is natural to them but retrieving in the water isn't.

Not too many people out here hunt birds besides ducks and geese anymore though. Most hunting dogs here are strictly retrievers...mostly black labs. I liked going for chickens because you are actually up and walking around instead of sitting in blind all cold and wet.

Rev, unfortunately I am unable to have a dog due to a couple of reasons...

1. I don't have the time needed to devote to a dog. Course I could get 2 and then they'd atleast have each other when I'm not around........
2. Strata law's currently prevent large breed dogs. I love large dogs. I want a dog that can protect my house, my family, and myself. Small dogs are willing but usually impeded by their stature...
3. I want a staffy (again). I understand that Ontario has the underground doggy transport happening, but with the laws in Surrey being as they are, I don't think it's fair to the dog......
4. My oldest cat (12yrs old) would be most unappreciative of a canine beast in his house. He adopted us when his previous owners decided on adopting little yappy dogs. They'd allowed the dogs to chase poor Butch. He sprayed (typical) and then was refused admittance to the house for 8 yrs. Until I moved into the basement suite. He moved in with us and we've been together ever since. He'd be most stressed with dogs. Maybe when he passes.......

Just out of idle curiousity who is this individuals with the dogs in SK? What kind of dogs?

Jay! Got more pics?

She's the woman who looks after my parents' dog and cat when they go away. It's not really a kennel, she runs a pet food store and boards dogs in her home for some extra cash. I went to pick up the pets and she's got eight mongrels somebody dropped off in her yard...shepherds crossed with something huge if I had to guess. They are someplace between six and ten weeks.

They'll go pretty fast in that area, I think. There have been some problems with gas and tools going missing from farm yards around there.
