When it comes to this parking lot, size matters.
There was undoubtedly some piqued interest after people noticed on their Google Maps phone app, what appears to be a phallic shaped island in the parking lot of Women’s College Hospital near Grenville St. and Surrey Pl.
“Some patients and staff noticed the peculiar configuration, but they are afraid of being exposed as ridiculous by raising that flag,” said one doctor who didn’t wish to be identified.

“A phallic symbol pointing to the ‘women’s’ logo…very likely that some of the architects noticed, as well, but that’s my speculation.”
According to media reports, the hospital re-opened in 2016 after a five-year, $460-million redevelopment.
Women’s College Hospital did not wish to provide a comment Friday.
In 2015, the TTC removed a “phallic-looking” sign from Downsview station after photos started circulating on social media and on Reddit.
The picture was a map of bus route platforms within the station.
“Everybody who had seen the sign, it led some to believe it looked like a very phallic-looking symbol and we don’t want any of our maps to be misconstrued, so we’re in the midst of replacing it,” TTC spokesman Brad Ross said at the time.
