Signs, Signals, and Markings - Road Marking

Oops!! Sorry everyone I just realized that I posted american pavement lines rules.

Here are the Canadian rules re road lines:

7.2.4 Double Lines
A double line, consisting of two solid yellow lines, delineates the separation of traffic

in opposite directions and prohibits passing for both directions.

A double line, consisting of a single broken yellow line and a single solid yellow line,

delineates the separation of traffic in opposite directions. Passing is permitted for

the traffic adjacent to the broken line and is prohibited for traffic adjacent to the solid

line. This line is also used to delineate a two-way left turn lane in which the solid line

is placed on the outside, as shown in Figure 7.32.

Double directional dividing lines should be used on all numbered highways.

Double dashed yellow lines are used for lane reversal systems. See Section C2.7.1

of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada for further discussion.

Where it gets really interesting is when you are making a signaled and properly-positioned left turn over a double solid line and get clipped by someone illegally passing you - and you get charged for making a left turn not in safety

It is always an illegal action to turn left over double pavement lines.

I don't think British Colombians are capable of driving smart.. because you put them behind a wheel and it's like feeding someone a stupid pill.. they all become Chinese.

People who drive larger vehicles, as do I, think that about all car drivers.

Then you and I are in the same boat.. don't you just love it when you have 56,000 lbs in your trailer.. going down hwy #1 and some idiot passes you, pulls in front, then slams the breaks on to read the sign.. "oh here's my turn.."

Better yet, you have cruise control set at 103 kph. Come up on a slow car driver, doing 97 kph.. the minute you start to pass they are looking in their mirror bloody racing with you.. "oh god, can't let that rig pass me now.."

Oh and the high beams on hwy 5, running up on you. Flash your back up lights, because they don't have a clue that his lights in our mirror dam near blinds us.. so he dims the lights.. you turn your back up lights off.. then bang. the idiot turns his high beams back on.

My response was anything but professional last night.. the f*cker. ;-)
