RE: Our So Called Leaders

Actually the exams came back I believe in 1986. I graduated in 1985 and never wrote any, but I knew they were coming back the next year. It was a social credit thing. But Campbell made some changes to them making grade 10 and 11 students take them now and he changed the requirements to graduate as well. You have to do some sort of "Life Portfolio" now, in order to graduate.

RE: Our So Called Leaders

Something about your plans for when you leave school. It is actually called a "Graduation Portfolio" to be correct.

* Grade 10-12 courses count for credits toward graduation.
* School districts have increased flexibility to develop courses and programs that respond to local needs.
* The Planning 10 course encourages students to explore a range of career options, plan their future and develop skills in areas such as career planning, healthy decision-making, and finances.
* Students now write five Graduation Program exams: Language Arts 10, Science 10, Mathematics 10, a Social Studies 11/12, and a Language Arts 12. Other Grade 12 exams are optional.
* Students demonstrate their competencies in areas such as career planning, employability skills, information technology and personal health in assembling a Graduation Portfolio.

I am not exactly sure what a graduation portfolio is. When I graduated things were a lot more simple. If you passed your classes you graduated. No government exams, no portfolio's.
