Though I believe Greek would be interesting to learn for the Classic and not the Bible as I could give two (#$%#)'s about people forcing any bible on anyone, I think the reasoning behind such stupity would put many of us off the idea of leaning Greek because of the orginal tongue of the bible. I think in our seculer (Temporal) society we have put this type of thought behind us long ago, sometime during the high middle ages to the age of enlightenment. This type of thought is prevalient in nations such as sadie arabia and Afghanistan. We should learn a tongue because 1. it's the tongue of the land, or 2 we have an interest in it.

Thanks for the sarcasm Machjo.

Those comments were extremely rude. And I'm not a fundie; just a regular Christian.

Thanks and God bless.

My apologies, Crusader. You're right; it was rude, and I apologise. :)

While I can understand the great advantages a common language would introduce to Christendom, I don't think it's appropriate to impose a language of such strong religious association upon non-Christians.

Acknowledging Canada's predominantly Christian population would make me support the idea that Christians could be given NT Greek as an alternative language in schools across Canada. And who knows. If enough anglophone Christians and enough Francophone Christians went for it, then this could help unite Christians Canada-wide. Anglophone Christians would not feel tha French is being imposed on them, and Francophones ditto for English. NT Greek could be the freely chosen language for both sides, which could thus be regarded as neutral ground between the two groups, so to speak. A Christian Esperanto, if you will

I do like that idea. Thanks

Greek ... A Christian Esperanto, if you will

Then, why not Latin? St Paul was Christianity's greatest ambassador and he was a Roman citizen who spoke Latin. Moreover, French is based on that language and those who speak the language can learn it more readily than Greek.

Allow me to apologize on behalf of the membership.

I find it offensive that this gentleman wants to force broad religious based teachings on those not of his religion. And in publicly funded schools no less. When do I get my apology?
