Ontario man kicks his way to $1-million prize

He missed three times, but the fourth kick was a charm for Brian Diesbourg and now the 25-year old is $1 million richer.

Diesbourg kicked a 50-yard field goal at half time of Thursday's Toronto Argonauts-Hamilton Tiger-Cats game to win the big prize.

"It was crazy," said Canada's newest millionaire, who was mobbed by Argos players when he made the kick.

The 25-year old from Belle River, Ont. got the opportunity to kick for the money when his name was randomly drawn from 200,000 entries in Wendy's Kick for a Million promotion.
.

Diesbourg got kicks from four distances -- the 20-yard line, 30-yard line, 40-yard line and the 50-yard line. He missed the first three kicks, which would have won him smaller prizes.

I say pretty dam good. Right on. He gets $25,000 a year for next 40 years, all tax free of course.

This does not make him a millionaire. It means he gets 25 grand for the next 40 years. Are the new reporters really this stupid?

RE: Ontario man kicks his

They were a bit misleading as he would not be a millionaire unless he kept every dollar in the bank for 40 years, but may be done sooner if he got a half descent rate.

But 25,000 a year tak free for 40 years is not bad either.

Just saw on news Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed him to their negioating list...........

I'd be happy to take it - my wife clears a little less than that, and I have a pretty good pension coming in - SHE COULD RETIRE!
