For what it's worth, I think it's a great concept. Find an area that could be dedicated to the christians -- like some deserted island somewhere -- empower them with self-government and let them go to it. As long as it's not in Canada or the US, and providing we could find somewhere to put them, I think it solve a shitload of trouble.

If people truly want a christian-based power structure, I think they ought to be able to do so. I suspect it falls into the "careful what you wish for" category and would not be the utopia they think it would be, but I believe it would be a highly interesting social experiment.

My problem is not with their beliefs, but with their desire to enforce those beliefs on others.

Leviticus 18:22:
"You shall not lie with a male as those who lie with a female; it is an abomination."

Leviticus 20:13:
"If a man lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination and they shall surely be put to death."

Romans 1:26-27:
"For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions: for their women exchanged the natural use for that which is against nature. And in the same way also the men abandoned the natural use of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error."

I Corinthians 6:9:
"9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

I Timothy 1:9-10:
"Law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and fornicators and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound (healthy) teaching."

And of course there's always Sodom & Gomorrah. This is no way a complete list, but I think it's sufficient to demonstrate your comment is plain old wrong.

Cosmo, I think that Outer Limits or the Twilight Zone have done an episode on exactly this situation.......It was about a commune.......and nobody was allowed to leave.....and you know it ended badly....they always do.

So you pick and choose to support your point? Or do you not believe in the old testament? Which doesn't make sense to me considering the new testament is built on that foundation.

I just find the whole idea of using the bible to support any point entirely absurd. You can find absolutely anything you want in there. It's contradictory, vague and open to interpretation. Not to mention the fact that it's been translated from other languages. Unless you can read the original text in the original language it was written, the English version is subject to one more step away from its origins. You are at the mercy of the interpreter and we all know that means a personal slant.

I guess you and I will have to agree to disagree, that's all.

Ya ... I saw that one. I think you're right, that a christian power structure would end badly. But I get tired of hearing the complaining and would love to see the radical christians get the opportunity to find out for themselves.

I of course, had a crush on Captain Kirk as a kid. And as an adult on Captain Picard. Don't like the newer version of those shows.

Love the old black and white twilight zone. Love Outer limits.

But I get tired of hearing the complaining and would love to see the radical christians get the opportunity to find out for themselves.

I hear ya! I'd like a camera installed so we could all watch them spiral into corruption and hell though
