Wow, I didn't even know that. That's a very wise way to keep power in such a precarious situation.

Trick is getting that person elected. Since he needs a majority of votes there are more people who may want a Liberal in that position than an opposition.

Assuming they even go for it. Having a speaker from your own party may have advantages in debates and such which you would give up for this scenario. There are lots of games that could be played in this situation. And it may be that they simply won't think of it. It has been my opinion that polititians don't always do the 'smart' thing. Of course if they were truly smart, they probably woundn't be running for office in the first place.

It's always an advantage to have the speaker from your own party, unless, as in this case, it puts you at a disadvantage come vote counting time. I would think that he'll 'reward' a reasonable opposition member with the Speaker's chair, but that member might get the boot from his party if he accepts.

Lighten up Juan. It's a joke.

Or maybe it isn't.

I will remember to send you the pictures next time we loose one in a burning MVA. REAL close ups of the body just as we see it.

I've seen 'em all before. Nothing shocks me dude.

But you can substitute my Dalton wish for 'chokes and dies' if it makes you feel any better.

Mcliar whodat *****wath dyeeeeeeeeeeee
Why would you call Horwath a w h o r e?

Some of these districts are really close. Most bi-polar election ever.
I agree, the mentally infirm, voted Dalton back in.

"Fu ck McGuinty I hope he dies in a car fire", That is really intelligent.
About as intelligent as your silly and seriously flawed math.

Ontario is in debt because the powers that be over the past decades deregulated the
industrial base and the jobs moved out, to Asia.
LMAO!!!

They deregulated the industrial base to keep it here. At the expense of some trades. It was the unions that pushed it over seas.

There is no one left to pay the taxes because the employment standards mainly wages has slipped and that means there
is no golden goose, a middle class that can afford to pay the bills.
Thanks to constant pandering to unions.

The Federal Government has gone back to the old days, all the debt reduction and
budget balancing is gone and the present conservatives have stacked up more debt
than almost anyone in Canadian history.
That's funny, when you consider the opposition said the spending didn't go far enough.

I see someone else forgot that the Liberals and NDP in Ottawa berated them for not spending even more on stimulus programs...
Silly, but sadly a fact of politics and ideologues.
