DENVER -- The president took American exceptionalism to a whole new level Wednesday by suggesting that not only is the United States the greatest nation on earth, but every other country wants to be us.

"...[W]e’ve still got the best workers in the world. We’ve got the best entrepreneurs in the world. We’ve got the best scientists and researchers in the world, the best colleges, and the best universities in the world," he said at a campaign rally in Colorado. "We’re still a young nation, and we’ve got the greatest diversity of talent and ingenuity, and people want to come here from every corner of the globe.

"So no matter what the naysayers tell us, no matter how dark the other side tries to make things look, the fact is there is not another country on earth that would not gladly trade places with the United States of America.”

A curious bit of hyperbole when one considers that Muslim countries have a decidedly negative view of America. In a recent Pew survey, disapproval of the United States was above 70 percent in Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan and hit 86 percent in Jordan.

So is the United States all that and more, do we as Canadian's want to be more American.. if so, why not just remove the border and become a U.S. State if we are so much in love with the USA and want to be them???

American culture is the envy of the world... For all the **** people say about America those haters sure do love their American music and cinema....

Abolishing the borders and joining them is a bit extreme..... Those same people that enjoy American Culture still will always enjoy what makes them Canadians, Mexicans etc

I really wish people would stop calling him a socialist. Im not trying to defend him, im trying to defend actual socialists. Obama is barely a liberal much less a socialist. Some countries in Europe actually have socialist governments which look and act nothing like Obama.

As for wanting to be American I'd say no. If they have to constantly refer to themselves as being the best and constantly slap themselves on the back then they may have some self esteem issues. Who are they trying to convince?

I like lots of American things and like to go there from time to time. Thats a far cry from wanting to be one of them.

America, China's B!tch.. not sure what is so good about that..

Obama and Hu Jintao, meet in the White House to talk about concerns over an arms race.. Hu Jintao reassures Obama that China is not interested in an arms race, because China already owns your ass anyhow..
