I'm not saying, have never said, they don't have a real problem......just that they're making the wrong argument. Fighting to keep people who don't have IDs without them, seems to me like it's keeping them down in more ways than it could potentially be 'helping' them.
Of course it is. The Dems have a long tradition of racism.

In point of fact, "they" do both. Many of the same groups that oppose the voter ID requirements are also working hard to get people the IDs they need.

Also, most of those "voter ID" laws contain other provisions. Shortening the hours and days the polls are open. Interfering with the ability of of students, servicepeople, and other residents who are temporarily out of state to vote. Trying to reverse measures that increase participation.

I've written about this before. Nobody gives a damn about "fraud" or "the right to vote." Certain constituencies skew Democratic. So the Democrats do everything they can to give those constituencies maximum opportunity to vote, and the Republicans do everything they can to limit the ability of those constituencies to vote.

Anyone who thinks this is about "the right to vote" or "voter fraud" is a liar or a chump.
