May I say a little prayer?

God keep our land glorious and free
O Canada, We stand on guard for thee.

Sovereignty is what this prayer is about. The prayer of generations of Canadians.

I look at the world as it is today and see a sea of change, are we ready? Are we even thinking about the future of the country?

Where are we today?

The US has gone to war. When war is over, she will have to lick her wounds and deal with the domestic damage caused by that war. She will have to deal with all those around her that would see her fall. To do that. she always looks to Canada for resources and wealth transfer. This is done through creating favourable trade terms to achieve this goal.Like the bully who takes a smaller child's lunch money, that's what we can expect.

How do we resist? We don't...We do our own thing....

Regardless of what other nations of the world are doing, we must retool our economy if we are going to maintain the quality of life that we are blessed to enjoy. We must get off this oil driven rollercoaster. We must protect our sovereignty, not only with our armed forces, but against economic oppression. That's our obligation under our pledge to stand on guard, so we can't shirk it if its not convenient or greater profit can be made...

Other countries are alot farther down this path than we are...Some European countries have 20% of their power from biomass, 20% not relying on oil, and they are deploying this infrastructure at an astounding rate. These are the countries that economic pundits are touting as "underperforming", as opposed to what? An oil driven economy? That's just short term....We should remember this country will be here for our grandchildren, but what kind of life will they have?

Advanced countries in the world are moving the tax burden from income to consumption. This will over time lead to a pay as you use tax regime. Will it happen over night? No, but it is best that we be working on it. BC has started, some have put forth this principle in the election, not clearly articulated, granted, but nonetheless the spirit of the thing is quite clear. Consumptive taxes are the sign of an emerging First World economy.
Tax rates will vary according to need, that has always been the way for this country.
We're a commonwealth after all....Just like in the Book of Acts.

We are the stewards of our land and have been entrusted as so through answer to heartfelt prayer, that we pray everytime we sing our anthem don't forget.

One man agendas, one man "government" manifests itself as a crusade and history teaches us that crusades end badly. When three meet and agree, it shall be written in heaven.
Note: Three, a consensus. A consensus to reach important decisions. This is the way of Commonwealth. If we stray too far from this path, it could bring the country to ruin. Its our spirit of collaboration that has built this country so far and it will be that spirit that leads us through these troubled times and to achieve our collective prayer.

In this election, look to those who are inspired to have a vision for the country, how it will be different, not how it will be the same.

Everyone called to run for public service is a great Canadian, each presenting what they think is right, so soundbites and glib retorts maybe entertaining, but don't let that drown out the song of your heart and distract you from doing what is right for the country.

Do it for the grandchildren and those yet unborn.

Let the raucous debate about the future of this country begin!
