Savvy move by kim, release a canuck before his best before date enriching NK in juniors' eyes, NK policy makers know libs will beat their chests about how they managed to liberate a countryman. They also know trudough never sees evil and is a buddy of trump so they figure by doing junior a favour he will reciprocate and put a good word in for them at bedminster.
Odds are he will.

Demands were like:

Canada answers the phone "Hello?"

Nk "This is North Korea. Send delegation to take home prisoner."

Canada "OK".

Yes! lets all dispatch some envoys!
;)
now he is in the club.

Once one has a nice pile of envoys stacked up out back, one carries real weight at the table

Trudeau does what Trump can't.
Or Obama for that matter, eh? Or did you conveniently for get that Warmbier was snagged a full year before Trump became the sitting President.
North Korea obviously had major issues with the US long before your hilarious nazi nightmare was elected so this has nothing to do with Trump.

So to sum up: The good pastor was sitting in a Nork prison since at least Dec. 2015 and Trudeau is awesome because he finally got released. Warmbier was sitting in a Nork prison since at least Jan. 2016. Trump became the sitting President in Jan. 2017 and yet after only about 6 1/2 months you think he failed where Trudeau succeeded. Took Trudeau long enough to send a delegation to NK don't ya think? Oh, and btw, HUGE thanks goes to the Swedish embassy who looks after the interests of Canadians who happen to be in NK because we don't have a diplomatic presence there.

Man, you're desperately grasping for straws now. It seems that you're not only math deficient, you have this strange fascination with comparing Trudeau's and Trump's performances while using completely different time frames as your metric.
Like when you suggested that Trudeau had done more in a year and a half than Trump accomplished in 6 months.

Now, if you actually understood how Asians think you'd know that they're really big on "saving face". It's practically embedded in them.
Holding a Canadian really does nothing for NK, especially one who is in ailing health. Holding Americans gives them leverage, or so they believe anyway. They're not going to release an American unless they can get something out of it. This is what I mean by saving face. Even if it's just a little bit of face, it at least gives the appearance to everybody that they didn't completely cave. And that's what it's all about.
