Northern Ontario,
Harper would have been hanged with a short rope and a long drop for this...
Can't wait to see what excuses the usual suspect will have for this one.....

I don't see a problem. There would be a lot of "spit balling". Things put out there that wouldn't have a hope in hell of becoming policy. It would be asinine, in the extreme, to allow the press free reign in that kind of environment.

Gerry you are right a political party or cabinet retreat is for exploring ideas and
speaking freely about the scenario's that might play a role in policy. There is no
need to report on an idea session until it comes to caucus and formulation of a
policy.

But "real change", "sunny ways", 'new era", "open", "inclusive", "transparency".... etc etc etc...

“That was a really important moment for him yesterday to signal how we want to change the relationship, and how we want to change a lot,

Kate Purchase, speaking about how Trudeau will deal with the press.

Now I'm not saying he had to. But it sure seems like business as usual. 163 empty rooms at the Inn, and no room for press to mingle with the gobt?

I would have been impressed.

That's probably a mistake to shut out news media like that. So far, the Media have been the Liberals darling and have overwhealmingly boosted them (ad nauseum). The Libs are biting the hand that feeds them.

I bet the get a pass. The lovefest hasn't ended yet.

The end of the honeymoon will come. The Old Liberal guard that we pitched out a decade ago is still looming. You can be sure that they haven't changed a bit. Wait for the first scandal ... from ... Hmmm ... Quebec?
