If I was the mayor or police chief of an NFL city, I would ask for volunteer cops, black and white, to go out and kneel with the NFL players and say "Yes, there are problems. We know there are problems. Let's work on them together." And I'd talk to the owner and say "Hey, let's put together a player/cop group, to visit schools and hospitals together, to talk to each other, to come up with suggestions for policy changes, both a charity thing and a serious advisory council."
But we don't do that anymore. We yell at each other. We don't talk to each other.
