NFL Kneeling Protest

If I was the mayor or police chief of an NFL city, I would ask for volunteer cops, black and white, to go out and kneel with the NFL players and say "Yes, there are problems. We know there are problems. Let's work on them together." And I'd talk to the owner and say "Hey, let's put together a player/cop group, to visit schools and hospitals together, to talk to each other, to come up with suggestions for policy changes, both a charity thing and a serious advisory council."

But we don't do that anymore. We yell at each other. We don't talk to each other.

The problems with police shooting Black men are more directly rated with Black men being criminals and resisting arrest than racism. Maybe the Black football players should work with their own community to try and tone down their violence instead of blaming the police. The Black community has laid this all on the cops as if cops are racist - when in fact, policing is one of the few professions which try very, very hard to weed racists out. The Black community needs to take responsibility for its own violence.

I'm not yelling. I'm telling. The problems they're bitching about are of their own creation.
Maybe they should listen to Chris Rock. "When you see the flashing lights in your rear view mirror, stop immediately. Cuz everybody knows, if the police have to come get you, they're bringing an ass-kicking with them."

Since first taking a knee in Aug 2016 has anything changed or does change require more direct action and involvement?

Go nuts, take a knee all you want but when you stand back up at least have a plan for change and act on it before next week's game.
