NFL owners voted en mass to make any player who is on the field have to stand for the national anthem and "show respect".

If you can't do that you stay in the locker room.

The rule is made in such a way that it does not have to be compliant with the players collective agreement.

Of course there will be more said on this issue as time goes by.

The NFL is a tired old money machine that needs to be broken up.

On the positive front THE 49ers - who are front and center on this issue due to Kapernick -abstained from the vote and the Jets owner said he will pay any fines incurred by any of his players.

Not sure why this is even an issue. I don't think the networks even cover the national anthems preferring to insert another 1 or 2 commercials before play starts. It's just fodder for the news outlets (regardless of slant). If I was the NFL I would have just ignored the not-standing entirely. Sooner or later people would get bored and move on to other things.
