New York magnate leaves billions to the dogs

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York hotelier and real estate magnate Leona Helmsley left millions to her beloved dog, Trouble, but she has left billions for the care of dogs in general, The New York Times said on Tuesday. </img>

Anyway, I think she did the right thing doing something for man's best friend. If shelters can be improved and expanded, more spay/neuter programs sponsored, and adoption made more affordable, I think that is money well spent. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a pessimist if it comes to people administering this much money... I worry it might get lost in administration fees and "other" dubious "expenses"!

Yeah it makes far more sense to make sure dogs are taken care of than people.

It's fitting because Helmsley treated people no better than dogs.
