Craig's Bond films include Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace

The 25th James Bond film will be released on 8 November 2019, producers have confirmed.

The currently-untitled movie will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who worked on the last six films.

But it has not yet been announced whether Daniel Craig will return to play Bond for the fifth time.

The BBC understands the actor has not yet signed a contract, but The New York Times reports his return to the role is a "done deal".

Bond 25 will be produced by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

Skyfall, Craig's third Bond film, became the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK after its release in 2012, but it has since been toppled by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

New James Bond movie 'Shatterhand' will see 007 battling blind supervillain in Croatia as spy heads overseas

The film, based on book Never Dream Of Dying, has a working title of Shatterhand and will see Daniel Craig battling a blind baddie

James Bond will travel to Croatia in the 25th instalment of the 007 franchise.

The film has the working title Shatterhand and the plot sees Daniel Craig’s spy battle a blind supervillain.

It is based on the 1999 thriller Never Dream Of Dying by US author Raymond Benson, who also wrote Bond books Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough.

The novel opens with a police raid on a French movie studio that goes badly wrong, while an actress with a sordid past leads Bond to his final target.

A source said: “Bond scriptwriters feel it could be the perfect follow-up to Spectre. They are hoping to film in Croatia next year.”

The insider said producers had been furious when a local mayor revealed they had been scouting for locations in the coastal tourist hotspot of Dubrovnik.

The film is hotly anticipated after Craig’s U-turn on quitting as 007.

The 49-year-old star is set to return for his fifth stint in the series despite declaring he would rather slash his wrists than play the secret agent again.

Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles as Spectre villains after provisionally agreeing to do the next blockbuster.

Author Mr Benson said the film would hit cinemas in November 2019, with the film taking inspiration from 1960s 007 outings You Only Live Twice and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Other expected locations include the South of France and Japan.

Skyfall, Craig’s third Bond film, became the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK after its release in 2012, but it has since been toppled by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

James Bond will battle sinister 'Union'

The film will be based on 1999 book Never Dream Of Dying, written by Raymond Benson

In Raymond Benson’s Never Dream of Dying, bond battles a blind criminal genius behind an evil organisation called the Union.

The action kicks off in the South of France where a police raid ends up killing innocent people.

A dead man’s jail confession puts 007 on the trail of the bad guys. He starts a relationship with a film star called Tylyn Mignonne whose husband just happens to be connected to the Union.

Our hero has an underwater brush with death, a chase through the wilds of Corsica, a surprise encounter with an old friend - and a showdown with the blind baddie.

Daniel Craig reportedly signs on for two more Bond flicks

Daniel Craig is reportedly set to return as James Bond in another two movies.
The 49-year-old actor has played suave spy 007 in the past four films in the franchise, but had been thought not to be returning for a fifth outing after saying he would rather “slash my wrists” than reprise the role.
However, now Britain’s The Sun newspaper has reported that Craig has signed on the dotted line to head back to MI6 for two more films, after undergoing negotiations with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.
“There was plenty of talk about who would be the next Bond but Barbara has managed to talk Daniel into two more films,” an insider told the publication. “He is loved by audiences around the world and has driven a real resurgence for the movies at the box office, so bosses knew they couldn’t lose him just yet.”
Apparently, the next film is set to be entitled Shatterhand, and is due for a release in November, 2019. And bosses are said to be considering a remake of 1969 movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service for Craig’s final outing as Bond.
“The script is nearly ready for the 25th film, so there is no time to waste on getting Daniel locked in,” the source added. “But the deal is almost done and the idea of returning to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service for the 26th movie is really exciting.”
“The film sees James get married, only for his wife to be killed, so it would be an explosive way to end his reign as 007.”
The original film starred almost forgotten Bond, George Lazenby. The Australian actor and model only appeared in one movie as the super-spy.
With six films under his belt, Craig will have made nearly as many Bond movies as Sir Sean Connery and Sir Roger Moore, who both fronted seven each.

'No decision just yet': Daniel Craig dismisses Bond rumours

Daniel Craig has dismissed gossip suggesting he’s poised to sign on for two more Bond movies, insisting “no decision has been made”.
Rumours of the actor’s return as 007 started circulating after Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson announced the next instalment of spy film franchise will hit cinemas on November 8, 2019 late last month.
There has been no mention of a cast or director, but Bond fans are still hoping Craig will be back.
The Brit has one movie left on his deal, but made it clear while promoting his last 007 film, Spectre, he was tiring of playing the superspy.
He told one reporter he’d rather “slash” his own wrists than play the role again, but reports suggest the actor has had a complete change of heart. According to editors at British newspaper The Sun, Bond producer Broccoli has persuaded the star to reprise the role one more time and he is all set to sign the contract to seal the deal.
But Craig, who made his debut as Bond in Casino Royale in 2006 and went on to play the spy in Quantum of Solace in 2008, Skyfall in 2012 and most recently Spectre in 2015, insists there’s no deal signed yet.
“I’d hate to burst the bubble, but no decision has been made at the moment,” he told radio network 106.7. “There’s a lot of noise out there and nothing official has been confirmed.
“I’m not, like, holding out for more money or doing anything like that. It’s just all very personal decisions to be made at the moment. I know they’re (producers) desperate to get going and I would in theory love to do it, but there is no decision just yet.”

Daniel Craig announces return as James Bond

NEW YORK — Daniel Craig’s 007-era will die another day.
After months of gossip and denials, Craig on Tuesday night confirmed to Stephen Colbert on the Late Show that he will indeed return for another James Bond movie. The yet-titled film is due out November 2019.
“We’ve just been trying to figure things out,” Craig told Colbert. “I always wanted to. I needed a break.”
The 49-year-old actor’s stewardship of James Bond has spanned four films — and now will go for a fifth — but it has generated enough rumours to power the kind of doomsday device Bond is usually trying to stop.
Craig’s time as Bond has been distinguished. His “Skyfall” remains a high-point in both dollars and quality for the 55-year-olf franchise. His last one, 2015’s “Spectre,” grossed US$880 million worldwide. Most consider him a terrific Bond who has raised the bar for the franchise, and his official return was greeted warmly on Wednesday.
But the Craig-era, far more than its predecessors, has been characterized by a steady supply of Bond drama. Rumours and debates over who should be the next 007 have been nonstop for years, as has Craig’s frequent hints about calling it quits. In 2015, he famously said he’d rather “slash my wrists” than make another Bond movie, a comment he later explained as a kind of joke from the fatigue of just completing one.
Yet even while Craig keeps donning the tux, the next-Bond handicapping has been a year-round business. Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, Jack Huston and Riz Ahmed are just some of the actors who have been linked to the role — some of them for the better part of the decade.
Others have lobbied for a female 007, like Charlize Theron. Idris Elba has been a favourite for at least two years, going to back to when Bond author Anthony Horowitz suggested he was “too street” for the part.
The meetings of producer Barbara Broccoli are spied on as if they concern national security. In a way, they do. Bond is a nation-state of its own, with more than $7 billion in box-office revenues alone. And that’s a heavy burden for any actor to bear.
Craig’s constant dance with Bond has very possibly been a smart strategy to deflect some of that pressure. He has, perhaps more than anyone since Sean Connery, eluded being completely defined by 007. Last year he did “Othello” off-Broadway with David Oyelowo. He gives a comic turn in Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky, out Friday.
It’s as though Craig has always wanted his future with James Bond a little up in the air — shaken, if you like — so as to avoid the stasis that could set in for a decades-old franchise now preparing its 25th films. Craig acknowledged on Colbert that his return had been settled months ago, meaning he was evading questions about Bond as recently as that morning when he told a Boston radio station that “no decision has been made.”
And even as he confirmed he was returning, Craig suggested it will be his last one.
“I think this is it,” he said. “I just want to go out on a high note.”
Though many surely will, don’t bet on it. Or to put it another way: Never say never again.

New mom Beyonce is writing the next James Bond theme, according to sources.
The track, tentatively titled So Goodbye Forever, is said to be a brooding ballad and sources tell Star the singer is serious about scoring a big Bond hit, like Adele and Sam Smith before her, who both picked up Oscars for their Skyfall and Spectre 007 themes.
“This is the only project she is remotely interested in right now,” an insider tells the publication.
Daniel Craig recently signed on for his fifth turn as Bond in the franchise’s 25th film, which is set for release in November, 2019.
Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have yet to confirm the Beyonce news.

James Bond 'in love', will reportedly quit secret service and get hitched in next film

James Bond will quit the secret service and get married in the next 007 film, according to reports.
Daniel Craig recently confirmed that he will be reprising his role as the suave spy in the 25th movie in the much-loved franchise. But bosses are reportedly planning something completely different for the next instalment, with sources telling the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six that “Bond quits the secret service, and he’s in love and gets married”.
It wouldn’t be the first time Bond has wed. He was also married to Diana Rigg’s character Tracy Bond in 1969 movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
However, things are given a dark twist in the upcoming film when his spouse is killed. The movie, reportedly called Shatterhand and due for release in November, 2019, is described by insiders as “like Taken with Bond”.
Liam Neeson starred as retired CIA agent Bryan Mills in Taken, which saw him travel the world trying to track down his kidnapped daughter and seek revenge on her captors.
Craig confirmed he would be returning to the Bond franchise during an interview on chat show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last month.
When asked by host Colbert if he would be reprising the part of 007, Craig replied: “Yes... I always wanted to; I wanted a break. We’ve been discussing it, we’ve just been trying to figure things out.”
However, Craig also admitted that he’s likely to only play the role for one more movie, adding: “I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note. I can’t wait.”
The 49-year-old actor has played suave spy 007 in the past four films in the franchise, but it had been rumoured he wouldn’t return for a fifth outing after saying he would rather “slash my wrists” than reprise the role.

Idris Elba Could Be The Next James Bond

Tomb Raider star Dominic West has blown up the chatter about the next James Bond by suggesting 007 should be transgender.
The British actor, who has often been in discussions linked to Bond casting, thinks the superspy’s days as a womanising lothario are over — and he has just the person for the role — Colette co-star Jake Graf’s wife Hannah.
“Maybe a transgender Bond would be cool,” West told The Sunday Times. “There’s a very cool woman who’s the wife of an actor in Colette, who is a captain in the electrical engineers, the highest-ranking transgender soldier in the army.
“She’s a beautiful blonde girl who could be Bond. That’s actually a brilliant idea. They should have a transgender Bond because there are a lot of transgender people in the army. They’d be ideal because they can do everything.”
Both Graf and his wife identify as transgender.
Hannah has since responded to Dominic’s endorsement via Twitter, insisting her husband is the man for the role.
“If you really want a transgender Bond, then I can think of no one better than @JakeGraf1. Smooth, devilishly handsome and actually an actor!!” she wrote.
Daniel Craig is expected to step down as 007 – a role he has played for over a decade – after his fifth Bond film, which will be released in 2020.
Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, and Henry Golding are among the fan favourites to take on the role, while Outlander star Sam Heughan recently revealed he auditioned for the role.
The actor said, “I did audition for Bond a long time ago when they were redoing it with Daniel Craig, when he was Bond 21. They were going to go younger with him and it was a pretty good experience.”
