Now that's more like it.

Crackers trying to cause chaos.

What's with these white pukes picking a predominantly Black Hood for their circle jerk...........

Members of the gun rights group Open Carry Texas met with Fifth Ward community leaders Wednesday, hoping to explain why they chose an historic African-American community to hold a demonstration.

Members of the group were met by a chorus of voices telling them to stay out of the neighborhood and warned they will be "matched gun-for-gun."

"I'm going to tell you something homie, this is Fifth Ward, you ain't coming in here running nothing," community activist Quanell X said while flanked by members of the New Black Panther Party, who were holding assault rifles.

The two groups sat across from one another at a small folding table under a tree near the intersection of Lockwood and Lyons to discuss the details of Saturday's upcoming event.

Local 2 Investigates counted 15 Houston police officers on-hand to monitor the meeting.

"You're coming into the Fifth Ward and to the black community as insurgents," said Krystal Muhammad, with the New Black Panther Party.

"I beg your pardon?" said David Amad, with Open Carry Texas.

"You are insurgents," said Muhammad.

Members of Open Carry Texas have held hundreds of events where members walk through communities openly carrying rifles and shotguns in support of Second Amendment rights. The group's president, CJ Grisham, tried to explain why they chose the Fifth Ward for one of these events.

"We're trying to touch as many people as possible with our message that an armed society is a polite society," said Grisham.

The presidents of three Fifth Ward Civic Clubs shot back, questioning the group's motives.

"Let me just say for the record, we don't want you here," said Kathy Blueford-Daniels, president of Fifth Ward Super Neighborhood No. 55.

Other community leaders complained that the group should have reached out to them before scheduling an event.

"We do not need an education from you, you're coming here for the false reasons," said Kelvin Wagner, president of Fifth Ward Civic Club.

Eventually the meeting devolved into a shouting match and officers had to step in to ease tensions.

"You didn't come with an olive branch, you didn't come out of respect," said Quanell X.

"That's why we're here today," said Grisham.

Despite the angry words, members of Open Carry Texas said they still plan to hold their demonstration Saturday.

"I still don't understand why we have racial division. I don't understand why this is a racial issue," said Grisham.

As members of Open Carry Texas walked away from the table, they got a final warning.

"Saturday we will come and protect and defend our community because we don't trust them," said Quanell X. "Their motives are out of control."

Houston police officers told both sides there will be ground rules on Saturday. HPD officials said both sides will be kept separated and won't be allowed to interact with each other. HPD officials said Open Carry members will also not be allowed to march because they don't have a permit.

That's why the government passed the anti-gun in 1968 = to stop the Panthers who were only trying to exercise their constitutional rights.

And where was the NRA?

no new federal gun control laws came until 1968. The assassinations of civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy were the tipping point, coming after several summers of race-related riots in American cities. The nation’s white political elite feared that violence was too prevalent and there were too many people—especially urban Black nationalists—with access to guns. In May 1967, two dozen Black Panther Party members walked into the California Statehouse carrying rifles to protest a gun-control bill, prompting then-Gov. Ronald Reagan to comment, “There’s no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons.”

Ferguson residents who are black need to start their own branch of the Black Panthers or other well regulated militia. While the state has a restrictive open carry law, it does have a more relaxed concealed weapon law. Therefore, once black residents there finally awaken to the fact that the laws apply to them as much as anyone else, the cops will think twice before fcukkin around with anyone as they always do:

The number of arrest warrants issued tell an interesting story gopher

The conclusion reported by that five year study is equally interesting and is why the US Attorney General should pursue civil rights violations investigations. Instead of wasting so much time and money overseas the government should solve our own domestic problems first.

An arrest warrant usually means wrong doing has happened right? Of course the number of cases dismissed would be an interesting followup stat.

Agreed.

That said, even if you cut the number of arrest warrants to 1/4, that is still a helluva lot of arrest warrants for a small community.

Note: The above, in itself says nothing regarding Brown specifically

With all this in mind, it really appears that the 'peaceful demonstrations' are more of an excuse to lash out rather than anything to do with Brown or the reality that this appears to be a very high crime area

Why doesn't a 67% black community only elect 17% black councillors ?

Oh a new black panther movement, something else to be afraid of
What the hell has happened to America? The land of hope and promise
is either frightened or obsessed with fear and what else can happen to
them In the old days there was a two approaches hope and promise and
if there was a problem overseas it was dealt with.
Now we have all these war violation and world courts and god knows what
The criminal overseas don't care a fig about these rights issues so give them
a real taste of their medicine. Israel is doing that to some degree but not going
far enough. If these people want total war without rules we have the weapons
and the will to get it done WWII no one reaally bothered too much with its against
the rules

It can also mean selective enforcement of the law thereby proving government abuse of authority. This is why the feds need to step in and review these cases. After all people would not be publicly demonstrating against police unless there is some basis for their grievances.

We have had discussions on gerrymandering and it could be that district electoral lines are drawn in a manner designed to limit their voting power. I don't know that for a fact but bear in mind that Missouri's legislature majority are Republicans - these are the ones who draw district lines. If the federal AG believes those districts violate civil rights he may take legal action in which federal court may force the lines to be re-drawn.

grumpy,

No justice, no peace. Make the changes that will bring about justice and order and no one will clamor for their resurrection. As Jefferson said, when government fails people have the right to dissolve it by force if necessary. Let's have corrective action by government before people have to take matters into their own hands.

Black Texas Gun Club Stages Open Carry Protest against Killer Cops

A Texas gun club named after one of the founders of the Black Panthers Party marched in Dallas on Wednesday to protest against police brutality, KTXA-TV reported.
Around two dozen members of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club carried rifles and red, black and green flags as they marched through the city’s south side, sometimes chanting in support of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old man killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, on Aug. 9.

“If they don’t get these killer cops and corrupt cops under control,” a member identifying himself as Commander Drew X was quoted as saying. “What happened in Ferguson is going to be nationwide.”

Absolutely Goddammed Right.
“If the protests hadn’t happened, you wouldn’t have the attorney general, and all these people, the FBI and the federal people looking at the situation,” said Brazier, a member of the New Black Panther Party. “They normally would have ignored it.”
Again, dead-on correct. Protests MADE the nation look.
it's why wingnuts want the media to stop focusing on it. Like children who want to break the rules mom put on them and whine when she observes them.

I posted this because these gentlemen say exactly what I think in the excerpted sections, which are obviously prompted by the outrageous police overreach in Ferguson.

But the Gun Club is dead-on correct: we have to take the stand NOW as this **** is already latent nationwide and showing exactly zero signs of abating anytime soon. It is still ratcheting up, cops are still being funneled giant military vehicles and guns, guns, guns. And stylish military apparel that makes them feel frisky.

Again, I know there are people who sincerely believe this will work, if we just tolerate enough abuse, but please and thank you and polite requests have gotten people exactly nothing as well. Cops are still oppressing the people of Ferguson and cops around the nation are hoping the resolution will be one that opens a huge door to being able to kill more people with less protest.

This whole crappy phenomenon was caused by, financed by and encouraged by the War on Drugs and it's Siamese twin, the War on Terror. Widespread steroid abuse by cops ain't helping any.

I salute the Gentlemen of the Huey P Newton Gun Club: they have my thanks.

It's not like people haven't asked politely.

More protest.

Not just more protest - but more ARMED protest with tanks, Howitzers, jet fighters, helicopters, and other forms of weaponry designed to stop abusive government. Let's have all the forum Tea Baggers agree.

Apparently some rocket scientist calling itself DixielandDiva on Twitter claims that Capt. Johnson of the Missouri State Police was flashing Bloods gang signs in photographs.

Turns out it was the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity hand sign.
