Cortezz Burroughs hated tea heads. I think you'll find that in Junky. It's hilarious as they really irritate him. Too gregarious.

I do agree that Young should start with his own country. But it is a Canadian habit to whack at the US and ignore Canada's sins. I see a lot of that. But I am glad we agree.

I don't know what Rage is. I listen to African, Cuban and very old Cajun in that order. Well a lot of blues as well.

Cuban. Then you must have a copy of Ry Cooders handi work in Buena Vista Social Club? Cool stuff.

Said1 They can't make any real money without Young touring with CSNY. Most overt political songs are not that great. Try neocon by the stones. .

Probably not, but what does that have to do with anything? Most of their non-plitical songs are fantastic.

Neocon by the Stones is like fingernails on a chalk board. No thanks.

I don't like CSN or CSNY but if you are talking about the latter it is Young that is essential. There are a lot of people who like him. CSNY is a brand.

I really like that wholes series. Wim Wenders did a great movie as well. I also like Ry Cooder. Not all of it but the stuff he has done for world musicians.

I know, Young is a notable contribution to the band. But I'm a Stills fan, even as far back as Buffalo Springfield.

I love Ry Cooder, he's produced some incredible music - Into the Purple Valley is probably one of his best, really folky.

I saw a documentary you're talking about, that just added to the charm of the music.

Chavis Ravine is a new one by Cooder. My wife thinks parts of it are too political. Maybe this is some new kind of movement. I have to upgrade Purple Valley as I had it as an LP then a cassette. The farmer feeds us all. Vigilante man. FDR in Trinidad. Not sure if the last one was on there.

Back to Young for a minute. He was supposed to appear at the Junos and had a health emergency and could not go. I saw an interview afterward where he did talk very expansively about Canadian culture so he is sort of an ambassador for a Canadian identity in the US. The negative reaction to Young is similar to that of Michael Ignatieff. There is a small but very vocal group here who have a very rigid definition of what a Canadian is and expatriates are out. And ironically it is expatriates like Young and Ignatieff who represent Canada to many in the world.

I am a fan and will most likely buy the CD. I'm hoping this one rocks! the last few recordings have been just a bit too mellow for me :(

Freedom of Speech is fine, but I'm tired of performers getting up and speaking their minds, as if their opinions mean any more than anyone else's. In the States, people are so sick of Alec Baldwin shooting off his mouth that he's now called "Alec Baldwhine". An actor without any qualifications.

Neil Young is a performer, a musician, and the owner of a company which went bankrupt under his leadership called "Lionel" as in trains. He has no experience in Government, no background in political science, so why is his opinion any more worth listening to than the guy pumping Ultramar?

Ba-Zing!!!

I do agree though that people are tired of hearing the opinions of celebrities. Personally, I can't stand Bono. I've even gotten to the point where I will turn off the radio if a U2 song comes on. I am just tired of him opening his mouth.
