Wow... Campbell personally raised her drug costs?

Just a little thought, no1, why don't you offer to help Grandma? Or should the government pay for everything?

NEWS RELEASE:

NDP PLANS TO GROW MONEY TREES TO REPLACE PINE BEETLE INFESTED FORESTS

Carole James announced today that BCers need not worry about debt or deficits anymore. The NDP has been working with tree growers and scientists and have come up with the answer to all of BC's money problems.

Unfortunately the tree only grows US denomonations, so the NDP plans on planting the trees around currency exchange kiosks.

James says the new found money will help hire back all of the layed off BCGEU, and HEU workers.

James says the new trees will replace the need for evil business in BC, as well, we can expect to all retire by the end of the year.

treating people with compassion can hardly be summed up as great ladyc, it is something that is required in a civilized society, otherwise the claim to being civilized is a mute point.

Insig you can spin your liberal politics all you want, you cannot hide what your government has done to thousands and thousands of british columbians. And come election day, we will see just how many british columbians have a social conscious. Besides all the lies, and broken promises all outlined in this thread I believe this election will be about our social conscious.

Yeah he did with all the Pharmacare cuts. Don't you remember? He was even going to take away reduced cost bus passes until a huge stink was made about it.

I never said government should pay for everything, but cutting back programs and benifits for seniors is just plain mean and it shows he has no human compassion for anyone who is not wealthy.

Bunch of freeloaders and victims

Showing basic human dignity and respect is just so wrong to you people isn't it?

No one should make descent money or recieve benefits according to you guys. But it is okay for tax cuts to the rich, rape and exploit the environment, treat working people like shit. Sounds like you belong in Jesusland with "W".

"The almighty dollar comes before people" should be the right wing slogan.

its not about compassion - you talk about spinning - thats ndp spinning at its best. The NDP is all about big labour, and keeping Unions happy, not seniors, not students.

Well who jacked up University tuition?
Who Lifted the post secondary tuition freeze?
Who cut senior funding?

I will give you a hint----- it was not the NDP.

All these "so called victims and freeloaders(as u call them)" have the same amount of votes (1) just like anybody else.

I think I need another drink now.........

i don't think he was just spinning rhetoric insig... it's just some people (like me) are really frustrated with what we've been talking about here... lack of compassion in the liberal ranks. Most people who are frustrated with liberals have been hit close to home... maybe they are a teacher who under the liberals term in office have had to deal with 30+ kids in each highschool classroom, with reduced wages and having to see the kids having less councillors, less librarians... less of vital computers and equipment needed to operate. Or they are a nurse... who works 10+ hours a day taking care of our provinces wounded and sick, a very vital job in my opinion, and they are laid off or their wages are reduced in a slap to the face for all hospital employees, or maybe their entire hospital is simply shut down. It's true that a cashier at a hospital doesn't deserve more than any other cashier... but why should any worker earn less than a livable wage when corporations are beweeping a %1 loss in their $10bn quarterly profits...
And then their are the seniors... how can anyone call this spin? What is an 80 year old man supposed to do, answer this. Is he supposed to stop freeloading and go get a job? Pick up his socks and tighten his belt and take one for the province? Shame on you if you think that the generation that helped build the province does not deserve compassion from us. Don't you understand that we do not care whether big-unions or mega-business is paying the campaign of a party... what we care about is whether that party is going to look out for the people of BC and not just the money of BC.

How long do you think tuition could remain frozen? The universities rely on tuition to pay for research and salaries. Who should pay that... the government or the students who will benefit from their education?

The NDP didn't jack up the tuition, but they are certainly responsible for the seeming jump.

What is the big crisis in keeping tuition levels frozen? What is the big crime that the NDP is committing here? And no, the NDP is not 'certainly responsible for the seeming jump'. It was the Liberal government which unfroze tuition levels so who else could be responsible for a rise in tuition levels? I say keep them frozen, why not?

Sure, keep them frozen. And then in a few years you'll complain about the decline in the university's standards... why the profs are leaving (no money for research), why there's a shortage of TAs, why the computers and libraries are lacking.

The money has to come from somewhere...

If tuition was kept frozen, then in a few years I would not be complaining about any of the above... you would.

As the Reverend said, the benefits far outweigh the costs in the long-term. It's a case of catering to those who are in need instead of catering to those who are already doing fine.
