So were all supposed to move to the lower mainland is that it Lady C I lived in that city for 27 years and watched its steady decline.Sorry you can have it :p Under your logic we should get to pay are taxes and get nothing in return because we don
't have as many people .That kind of thinking we help nothing maybe we should dam the interior rivers and ration the lower main lands water :p I thought the goverment was for everybody in this province? They sure like the royalties that flow out of the interior from forestry and mining and oil and gas that shit is not coming out of the ground down there :p So don't give me this crap you pay more

You can live wherever you like, mrmom. You chose to live where you do based on a number of factors... job opportunities and quality of life probably ranked way up there.

However, the government needs to spend our tax dollars in the most efficient way possible. If there's a higher concentration of seniors in the Surrey/Langley area, that's where the majority of the new beds will go. Plus, there's also the possibility that those areas were in greater need, perhaps because other areas got funds in previous years.

How about you post some figures from earlier? Has the Cariboo been that sorely neglected? If so, that needs to be fixed.

You didn't say how long you've lived in Kamloops, but I'll assume that the facilities are pretty much the same as when you moved there, right? If so, then you can't really complain that you're being ignored. I've been thinking of moving, and the first thing I look at in each area is the facilities. I make sure that there's adequate recreational facilities, good schools, a nearby hospital...

uhhhh.... have you ever BEEN to the Okanagan, LadyC?

- The most popular hair colour (for women) is BLUE!
- 52 kmh in town is a TRAVESTY!
- STEW is considered "comfort food".
- Porridge is handy, when you forgot to clean your dentures overnight.
- You never have to worry about being hassled by kids downtown - smack 'em upside the head with your cane-handle.
- Join your local Legion - but just go there for morning coffee, and the Saturday afternoon Meat-Draw.

NDP may not have all the answers, I can live with that. However clearly the Liberals didn't either. They made a real big mess in Health Care and Education the core programs that Canadians take pride in. Social programs took a nose dive; this was to assist in spurring on the economy. Re-directing the flow of cash fact is it never happened. Campbell’s treatment of the HEU was a big mistake it will cost him, they were very lucky there was no general strike. But the human loss is much worse.

Hospital beds shut down, Sr. Homes closed and people relocated, longer waits for basic services, cutting the eye exams was a little cheap too. Not mention the cost on my family, not only did our friends loss their jobs and moved but both my wife and I did too. My wife was part of the HEU her facility was being closed and she knew she’d be out of work in a few months, not only did she lose her job, but when they clawed back that retro pay she lost most of her last cheque.

I work in the Social Services field with youth, they were hit pretty hard too, I used to have to wait 2-3 months to get a crack addicted kid into treatment now if they are not Aboriginal forget it. Youth crime is on the rise, despite what numbers you may see, people should go to their courthouse on time, and youth are just not being sentenced any more. A combination of the Liberal reform and the Youth Justice act mean that in order to keep the crime rate lower they just don’t sentence young people as often. A kid can in theory commit the same property offence as much as 6 times before sentenced.
The Youth and the Elderly have gotten the worst of the Liberals, and for the most part they don’t vote.

I don’t believe in God per se but when I go to bed at night I pray for two things that Campbell and his cronies don’t get re-elected and that Campbell doesn’t move into my town when he looks for a new job. I hate to have to run into that prick when I’m out getting some milk….

there it is folks, its what you call a social conscious, otherwise known as compassion. Everything you said is true chewy, thats why it is important to study the real record of the liberals, and not the fudged record. His surplus is a fraud, and while the province fills up with tent cities and the poor no longer even have access to legal representation, and crime goes up even the rich with their tax cuts will not be able to look the other way.

Yep that's what they call it, I have also heard it called Social Accountability or Social Responsibility. Being an American that has converted to Canadian Ideals I see a huge benefit being our brothers keeper. Taking a detour from those social attributes that make Canada what it is as a Nation makes little sense to me.
Good to see you again pea

Do you beleive EVERYTHING Jim Sinclair Says?

How did they make a big mess of education? The school boards DID close schools - TRUE, But there was low enrollment in those schools!

What the BCTF FAILS to mention is that NEW schools have been opened all over the Province!

Why is Health Care in a mess? Becuase the HEU whines that contracting out laundry and janitorial is BAD? Only people who work in a UNION can do a good job? NO. Its not a matter of throwing more and more money at the problem, its a matter of BEING MORE EFFICIENT!

Well we will see how good 8.50 an hour employees care about cleaning are hospitals and doing the laundry and so what about the tax money leaving forever we"ll just bump up the fees for everything some more .Heaven forbid we pay people a decent wage so they can pay taxes purchase homes and cars and stuff .Hey lets just sell everything to the Corporate raiders. When the super viruses start making people sick in the hospitals we can say it was more efficent and saved us money  Take it easy buddy you wouldn't have to go to the hospital you might catch something there :p

Don't blame society because you want to make a living cleaning sheets. If you want to get ahead in life you need skills. I guess if you flip burgers at McDonalds you should get $20 /hour too!

As for Union quality vs. Non-Union quality - SHOW ME ANY PROOF OF A DIFFERENCE! The main difference is that if the non-union guy is a F*%$-UP he can be fired! If the Union Guy is a F%$#-UP, he takes paid sick days!
