Is it just me, or is the whole space shuttle thing looking like some kind of anatomy of the law of diminishing returns??

Every time the thing takes off, the whole "mission" turns into trying to fix the damn thing up well enough that it'll come back to earth in (mostly) one piece. Either it's lazy cover for whatever is "really" going on, or the "program" is actually losing ground rather than gaining it

Not tryin to start a "war" here, just saying that I find it kind of funny that repairing the damn thing seems to be the main purpose of it, the logic of which kinda escapes me
