Police in St. John's, N.L., say a young boy stole an ambulance and crashed it into a city bus Tuesday night.
Const. Steve Curnew said a male youth took the ambulance from the Health Sciences Centre hospital parking lot, then drove it a "very short distance" before crashing into a Metrobus on the Memorial University of Newfoundland campus.
Nobody was injured, and the damage to both vehicles was "minimal," Curnew said.
Local media reports the boy was 12 years old, but police are not releasing his age.
The youth was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and breach of undertaking. He appeared in court Wednesday morning.
