i know, i know!!! let me go first, pleeezze. (i never had this opportunity in my life, 'cause my last name started with the letter 'w'....actually ~ that goes toexplain a lot. pea ~ if i am correct, your last name starts with a 'w'...no it doesn't count 'cause that was after you got the ball and chain, right?

anyways, i degress. or something like that. my summer vac was amazing. i got canned from my job, cheating and lied to (not that i am bitter) and then decided i should get myself another job, after trying to retire for a week. ((that's when the floors, the washing, the combing of the naval fluff all makes sense)). i am now happily employed. oh yeah and i saved my best friend from the evils of idiots. i slayed the dragon for her. nah, it wasn't drugs. but it could have been. kinda like when you are told never to run with a knife in your hand. or a fork. or any sharp object.

did a couple of short road trips, but nothing overly exciting. how about you guys?

You guys have dragons out there? Cool, all we have is dinosaurs, er...I think they like to called "Conservatives" now.

My summer vacation was split between doing hard labour and cursing the rain that was keeping me from doing hard labour, Galiano. Oh, I also drank about a gazillion beer (they were free), taught my nephew that they don't actually ask for ID if you are with an adult in a certain beer parlour (I'm already in trouble for that one...his father called last night), and forced my mother to watch Cat People (she said it was the worst movie she ever saw).

   Thats reminds me of a story I heard the other day about Aupook, you remember him rev. Well apparently aupook passed on a video to angus, the resident scottish socialist at starbucks. It seem the jacket said sound of music.

Apparently angus and his wife, a lovely couple in their late seventies, sat down to watch the sound of music, well it turns out it was a porno 8O 8O 8O mrs angus went into a rage, and fired it into the rubbish.

But than angus gots one of those sly cagey grins, he says mr. angus went to vancouver the next day, and he, mr. angus fished that video out of the rubbish.....Gawd! they are still dogs, even in old age :p :p

Hey GM how ya doing? I was wondering where you were.
So where did you go on your road trips?

I spent my summer staining fences, weather permitting. And I'm still staining fences. Only 16 rails to go and then we have to put them up. Had a family reunion here and that was a blast. And other than that just playing around with the colt gettin lots of nuzzles and loving rubs. Watching him explore and learning new things is hilarious some days. He likes to rip the fly masks off the other horses and then he laughs about it. Too funny.

We haven't had our Summer vacation yet! We are going away in October to Malaga, hopefully it will be nasty and raining here and lovely and sunny there!
We did go to the zoo the other day with William but all he wanted to do was ride on the train over and over again!

We took the kids to Rainbow valley (last season :crybaby:), went to the stock cars a few times, I learned how to waterski, my oldest is getting the hang of it, and our 5 year old tried to kneeboard.

We went to the beach, the cottage, pei motorcross, the exhibition and gold cup and saucer parade, the paint ball field in our back yard, berrypicking...and spent lots of time with our families.

What a great summer!

 What's a vacation? :x

I spent the whole summer working. If I'm lucky I'll get a few days in October. At least it paid for our new camera... :p

I was looking at one of those just the other day. I was trying to sort out the major feature differences between digital SLRs and advanced compacts. Basically, we're back to 1972...the only real difference is in the quality and interchangability of the lenses.

I hope they progress to the point of producing a digital Nikon FE2 soon. There seems to be a real shortage of digital cameras that will work perfectly after 20 years of dents and abuse.

Yeah...they are a little less rugged than their predecessors. The benefits out way that. The way the world is set up now it will be obsolete by the time it wears out.

Well I went camping a few times.I also went to Kamloops and Chilliwack for vacation. This is first summer though in a long time that I decided to take a lot of time off. I needed to relax, unwind, catch up on my fishing and I ended up becoming addicted to Mocha Frapps. :)

btw- Caught a 12 pound carp today at local slough. Many other smaller ones and one little old trout. All on bread.
