The Munich massacre occurred at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, when members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage by the Palestinian terrorist organization Black September, assumed to be an operational cover for Yasser Arafat's Fatah group. The attack led to the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes, and one German police officer. Five of the eight kidnappers were killed by the police during rescue attempts. Later, a series of Israeli revenge assassinations caused the deaths of two of three kidnappers (hostage-taker Jamal Al-Gashey is still at large) as well as the principal planners.

Author Simon Reeve writes that the Munich massacre was one of the most significant terror attacks of recent times, one that "thrust the Palestinian cause into the world spotlight, set the tone for decades of conflict in the Middle East, and launched a new era of international terrorism" (Reeve 2001).

Now I was not alive during the Munich Massacre but I became interested, when Spielberg decided to do the movie Munich, however I don't think it will be good because I don't like Spielberg personally, I think he does tacky movies and does bad directing.

But that is beside the point, I hope everyone reads the wikipedia article and do some research into this interesting subject.

First off, the Palestinian (Commandos) Terrorists were helped by the American athletes, accidently into the Olympic Village.

Second, the (Commandos) terrorists gunned down two Israeli hostages because they resisted. However, they released the Hong Kong and Ururguay team.

Third, the rescue attempt was botched at the air port, the bogus plane, the snipers etc. It wasn;t until the commandos learned that they were not getting a real plane when they killed the hostages. And it is not even known if the last four to die were killed by the Germans, the terrorist (commandos), or by a fire.

Finally, the Israeli agency went on revenge afterwards which was hardly documented, killing Palestinians not connected and connected to the incident. However, the three commandos/terrorists that survived, were not killed in any incidents.

So I wonder, how many innocent Europeans, and Palestinians, and others had to die in the terrorism sponsored by the Israeli spy agency to get these guys. Anddoes terrorism right terrorism, if the Munich massacre was terrorism, (possibly kidnapping).

Was anyone around during the Munich massacre? I guess it would be a big thing? Nothing seems to happen like that in an Olympics, unless you take Atlanta.
